I got about 7 runs in, it was ok, i hate 1/8th mile racin to short.

best ET is 9.99 at 71.78mph in the 1/8th and calculated thats about 15.55 at 89.72mph in the 1/4, with trans problems. so yes im slow, but i am faster then the same truck tested with motor trend heres the numbers.

15.8 @ 89.1 about 300 pounds lighter then me.

If i remove the tail gate about 100 pounds, rear cover 150, spare tire 50, speaker box 80, and drop down to 16" rims worth about i think .2, i should hit 14.7 to 14.9 range. I am happy if i get that on a bare bone truck

Used the bottom table for the conversion and double checked it with another site.

How many mods do u have? How come you didn't get a Vortec Max and mod that, it would be way faster than a 5.3L with comparable mods? With the V-Max you would have gotten a stronger transmission, rear disc brakes and a stronger differential. You can't put 16 inch rims on a NBS Silverado, you need 17 inch rims or bigger.

Oh my mods are intake, exhaust, headers, with minor tune.

Didnt want the 6.0, i know the rear end and tranny are strong in the vmax, but to me it would be worthless to pay more for parts i am goin to replace anyways.

15s thats pretty good from a full size truck.

I was Faster then the Fords, and almost as fast the imports, if i loose the weight i should be able to hit 9.5

Good times. You'll have to drop more than tailgate, spare and cap to get into the 14's though. It seems like that's all you have to do but these trucks can be weird. You might still run similar times just for the fact you have less weight over the rear.

I used to see guys in the imports literally strip interiors out of their rice rockets to get better times. Need a lot of weight over the rear to get decent times in a truck

True but that i have 20" rims, and about 300 extra pounds, and the math is .1 of a second for every 100 pounds, i think i can go faster with the weight reduction and the and 16" rims.

True but at this point i cant shred the tires if my life depended on it

What is your truck? CC, RC or EC? With 3.73s? I looked at your garage but it didn't say.

NNBS Silvy 5.3L ECSB, 3.73's 20" rims, intake, exhaust, headers, minor tune,
