Just Put My Wait4me Pcm In

Well I just put my wait4me tuned pcm in. I had it tuned for better milage, some HP ain and remove some torque management.

Got to tell you.....im not noticing anything different that my stock pcm except the tranny is shifting a bit firmer.

Now ive only had it in for a few hours so maybe it takes some time before the pcm settles in and I start to feel the difference?

 

Anyone have some ideas?

When I put mine in you could tell, but I got a performance tune... The 1-2 shift take some getting used to, its that firm for me, you kind of have to know when to let of the accelerator so that its not the roughest shift of your life... Definatly more low-end and top speed increased seeing as theres no more limiter..... Not that I feel comfortable going any faster than 170 in a truck anyways.... My guess is you'll notice more in your mpg numbers than driving since you went with the econo-tune...

For starters... ignore Jeff, he obviously doesn't know what's he talking about.

 

When you get a new tune, new PCM, or even disconnect your battery, it's going to take time for your PCM to adjust to your vehicle, mods, and the way you drive. This can take some time.

 

Also, a mileage tune is NOT a Max/Hot tune! So don't expect another 50hp or anything.

 

And last... while the Wait4Me tune in particular is set for dual octane - you're performance WILL vary depending on what octane you are running. Assuming that you have 87 octane in the tank since you requested a mileage tune, it's safe to say that you aren't going to get the most performance possible. Even folks who have gotten other non-wait4me tunes will likely agree with that.

 

With a mileage tune there is still going to be a noticable increase in HP/TQ moving over to 93 octane. Not saying you have to do this... just need to set you're expecations accordingly. But before you run out and fill up with 93... drive it for a bit. See what you think! And have fun*!

I got an economy tune from Jesse and nothing else, my fuel economy overall went up about 2 mpg and performance & shifting are both better. City driving in winter 17.5 & HWY winter 18.3.

And if I wanted to crusade against those forums, I'd post links to all of the threads from the "hardcore enthusiasts" who don't mind drivetrain components blowing up due to overly aggressive tunes and their "drive it like you stole it" mentality.
