Just A Little Bit More Chrome...

Well I went and got myself the OEM chrome mirror caps from the dealer today (bought the displays, got 'em for 20% off!) and ordered the Putco door handle covers from RealTruck.com and installed them all today. The caps came off okay but I doubt it is possible to remove them without snapping at least one of the tabs they use to stay on. With the new ones, I had trouble with getting the passenger side one on and don't think its *quite* flush but its barely noticeable. The driver's side one snapped right in with no problems.

The door handle covers are also pretty easy. I cleaned and then alcohol wiped down the handles and then carefully placed each piece in place. All in all, seeing as I paid 10% of what the dealer was quoting me for parts and labor ($300!) I think they turned out very nice.

So, on to the pics!

The truck itself is getting pretty dirty...but the at least the shiny parts are clean! I'll get some better, off the driveway pics once I get a chance to get her washed up again.

Time for some dark tint and chrome wheels! Some tubular side steps would look awesome as well.

Yep, all three of those are on my wish list, the chrome wheels being #1. If only the payments on this thing we're what they are I could save up for some nice wheels in about 2 months. :)

I'm still considering tube steps, not sure if they'd look right with the side exit exhaust. I think I'd get them in black as to avoid over-chroming the truck. I think it has the perfect amount right now.

Looks really good! I got a couple questions for you though. with the handle covers, once applied are you able to remove them? I'm guessing they were put on with that tape stuff. those look as good as the "true" chrome handles wich I got. just that the problem is I can't find anyone who can put them on, and I don't trust myself. the dealer told me 348$ for labor. I would imagin it would only take an hour... crooks..

Put yours on. The plastic covers may look good now, but ask him to post some close-ups a year from now. My Putco chrome mirror covers looked like crap after less than a year. I took them off and am having them replaced (lifetime warranty) then they are going on ebay as soon as I receive the new ones.
