Protect Your Truck From Theft

Hey guys, Check out www.trucksecurity.com I have ordered the hood latch protector for my truck. Also, for 99-06 chevy / gmc trucks, you can order "rear crew cab" factory door handles, with no key holes, from the dealer. The passenger door handle will bolt in stock holes, but the driver's side, one stud is 1/2 lower. It will work, just bend the metal flat with pliers, near the stud and tighten. Use a 10 mm open-end wrench, through the access plug, on the inner door jam. You could also order "escalade" handles. They should be the same. The part numbers are 15182406 and 15721571 for the crew cab handles.

Thanks for the info, but with the price of gas on the rise, I don't think any one will want to steal a gas guzzler. j/k :D

Well, two weeks ago, a tahoe got broken into, 1 am in the morning, across the street. He has damage to his door, latch, dash, window, radio gone, amps, and speaker box in the back. I have a camera, under the garage peak, that caught the crime on tape. The guy walked, up the driveway, cupped his hand to my window, seen the alarm led on dash, and walked away. Then, came back 5 minutes later, for the tahoe. I got a full discription of the guy and vehicle, and gave the tape to the police. I live near between Stockton and Modesto Ca., which is very high on auto theft and burglary. On GM factory alarms, they take a screwdriver to your keyhole and try to turn it. If it turns, then they have dis-armed your factory alarm and un-locked your door too. If they can't get the key-hole to move, then they pry under your door handle to push the key rod down. So, because I had a bit more security on my truck, it got left alone. I hope this helps others on the forum to protect your trucks.

Also, when you do away with the key-holes, undo the door latch, inside the door, and push out the key rod, so it won't rattle around and the hood latch is cheaper at autoguard.us for $39.99
