I seen a 1500HD the other day. I wonder why GM decided to make a heavy duty half ton? Thats kinda cool.

Question is what is the rreal diffrence,

1500hd

2500hd

both 8 lug

are the frames the same, brakes, one more or less leaf springs.??

probably the same torsion set upin front

My dad has a 2001 2500HD, with the same 6.0L.. it sits up a bit higher I think, he's got a better rear end for pulling (I don't have the ratios handy), the only real difference is his GVRW is a little higher than my 1500HD.. but not by much.

 

I've pulled a 12K bumper pull trailer hauling a 1948 John Deere A, my 1500HD just chugs right along. A good smooth road, and I'd forget it was back there.

New guy here, My name is Brad, traded my 00' Silverado for a 08' Sierra 2500HD. Love the thing so far. It's a big change for me coming from an all black one to this fire red. Here is the fire truck.

Here's my old gal. It's an 02 LS model with a 6.0 and it's showing 142,000. She still runs like a champ and tows like a mule. She has been a very good old truck.

This is my 2004 2500HD SLT 4x4. she just turned 65,000 the other day, and is currently stock, untill the warranty runs out. The last pic is a size comparison between my two automotive joys, lol
