2008 Gmc Sierra E85 Conversion?

Recommended Posts

Hello:

I have a 2008 GMC Sierra that was not set up for E85 from the factory. Is it possible to get a conversion kit from GM or do you have to go with a aftermarket kit? Is it possible at all?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't believe GM has a "kit". I've not seen any aftermarket kits, but there probably are some. Thing that would concern me is voiding the warranty on the engine with such a kit. While it may be possible, where's the payback? The cost of E85, while less than regular unleaded, does not provide the miles per gallon and is not as available as traditional gasolines. I live in the middle of corn country, and I'd have to drive about 30 miles to buy E85. Not worth it for me.

I to live in the middle of corn country but I am lucky we can get E85 at 4 diffrent stations. On reason ADM world headquarters is here in Decatur,IL and they made sure we can get it here locally.

P.S. I work for ADM "Supermarket to the world" :D
