Truck Won't Start

My 2000 Yukon Denali was low on gas. We used it to pull a tree down, and it ended up parked at a 45 degree downhill slope.

Now it won't start. I thought it might not be picking up fuel, so I put 5 gallons of fresh gas in it. It still won't start.

When I turn the key on, I do hear a noise. Hope that is the fuel pump turning on.

Any suggestions?

My guess there is air in the fuel system. Try adding more gas, or try to get it on level ground. If that doesn't work, you may have to pull the line up by the fuel rail and clear the air pocket.

I added 5 gallons of gas already. Getting it to level ground will be fun. The front tires are half buried. I will try. Thanks.

But the 5 gallons may not be reaching the fuel pump. I would try adding more, your gonna have to put more in soon or later.....

I got it on close to level ground. The gas gauge reads half a tank. That seems about right since I thought it had a quarter of a tank in it. It just read dead empty on that hill.

Do I need to prime the fuel pump? Is there a way to find out if gas is getting to it?

*** Checked fuses and found the 25amp AUX blown. Thought that was it, but it still won't start. How exactly do I clear the air pocket?***

I put a OBD Scanner on it today, and got P1041 code(02 sensor heater circuit malfunction, bank 1 sensor 2).

Would that cause it not to start?

Any suggestions?

Pull the fuel line at the rails and see if fuel is getting there. Be carefull.

The heaters are to get the sensors at operating efficiency quicker. I dont see how that could keep the engine from starting...

I pulled the fuel line. No gas - not even when I turn the key on.

I can feel the relay "click" when the key is turned on. Should I replace it, or just go ahead and call the mechanic to replace the fuel pump?

SOrry if this is really a dumb suggestion, but here goes:

Is it possible that somehow the fuel pump emergency trip got tripped. I know there is a provision in the system that in an accident (ideally) the fuel pump trip shuts the pump down.

Check your manual. I am sure it tells ya how to check if this got tripped.

Given that fuel isn't getting "there", AND that you here a relay clicking that apparently ain't doing something, maybe that's it?

try seeing if the fuel pump trip needs resetting..... :D

as you sere pulling down a tree, maybe there was a shock to the truck that was enough to make the pooter think it was a wreck and it tripped the shut-off.

(just tryin to help)

Thats what I thought at first, but assumed the noise he was hearing was the pump cycling.

*edit* I dont think GM put in a inertia switch.
