Got my Headlight Override Installed

Recommended Posts

Got it all finished up today.  As with all of R&D's produsts, the install was very easy with thorough, easy to fallow instrutions.  Other than my own goof up (http://www.gm-trucks.com/cgi-bin....pic=116), it was no problem at all.

Tommy, I have been thinking about this for a while. I think I'm going to the get the switch that keeps the low beems on when the high beems are turned on. that does make a huge difference. I wonder if it will also keeps the fog lights on too? As for the complete override, I think I'll just stick to the old "press the dome light swich 4 times trick"  R&D does make some cool stuff for our trucks

Smitty,

R&D makes a Foglight Controller that will turn your foglights on when your lights come on.  I have that mod also.  http://tommy3z71.homestead.com/mods.html   The '99's didn't have the option of using the dome override button to turn off the headlights.  If it did, that would have been good enough for me also.  Same thing with the Auto Door Unlocks on the '99's.

Newbie,

Thanks.  The only training I have is doing my page.  The program with Homestead is really easy to use  (Geocities is also, but homestead seems to have a few more goodies than geocities.  Plus you can post pics from homestead if you want to.).  That's the way I like it.  I don't need, or want, something that is real time comsuming and complicated.

Both the install and write up look professionally done.  Nice job Tom.  You're never gonna get rid that truck are you?

Thanks.

I don't really plan on getting rid of it.  I didn't plan on getting rid of my '91 either, but a drunk driver changed that.  When we get a vehicle, we usually plan on keeping it a while.  I hadn't made a vehicle payment for close to 5 years when my '91 was totaled.  I forgot how much that sucked:biggrin:

BTW,  when the site gets the new update, Zane and Josh will have some articles for the Tech Article section here at GMT on the installation of those R&D products I've installed.  Basically just like on my web page.
