Half-ton Fight Club: 2009 Ford Vs. Chevy Vs. Dodge Vs. Nissan Vs. Gmc

Nice. And why I bought a 6.2, 2 years ago. I will buy the biggest, most powerful engine/drivetrain combo avail. every 3-4 years. I'm glad the 6.2/6sp is now avail. in more models, as I will chose the std. transfer case next time over the Denali's AWD. I will also buy only USA. Dodge has made great strides. Ford's 5.4 is still in the dumper for me.

I will add some controversy. IF GM becomes beholden and even partially run by the government I will go to Dodge or Ford, or whoever is owned by private Americans. I just might have to add a supercharger to get what I need. A small price to pay for not giving even more of my money to our corrupt government.

Something just doesn't add up. The GMC and Chevy powertrains are the same yet Chevy managed a 15ft better stopping distance and better overall times? I can understand the subjective things like interior comfort or appearance swaying someone, but the performance numbers just don't make sense.

I'm guessing it is due to different suspension and tire/wheel combos

I'm happy to see GM come out ahead in their test, but it's really hard for me to place any faith in a review that includes the following: "The Tundra has a fully boxed frame with a high-tech, all-aluminum, 32-valve, variable valve-timed 5.7-liter V-8 that makes over 400 pound-feet of torque.". The Tundra is so well known as having an open C-channel rear frame (triple tech?), that it's been a topic of debate. Did they even review the writeup before posting it?

The GMC was an All-Terrain, and comes with the Rancho shocks. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Not the seats, the floor is completely flat when you move the seats up.

Oh...wow...that makes all the difference.

I think I will go out and sell my truck.. Clearly the Ford is superior...

/sarcasm

:dunno:
