Question
nedor
Hello,
I've been researching this since last September when I purchased 08 Yukon Denali XL. I have confirmed that GMC does not have skid plates for the Yukon Denali series. However, I noticed one skid plate between the front tires. I'm not very familiar with trucks, off roading, skid plates and things and all I want to do is take the truck on beach fishing. I have read that Sierra Denali owners have no problem but could not confirm if Sierra Denali's come with skid plating or other type of protection underneath the truck.
When I do a research on skid plates fo yukon denali's, all I get is the front grill with skid plating in one...
My questions are, how many skid plates or what area should be protected for light off roading such as beaches.(the place I've went gets really nasty sometimes, I've seen Durangos and other large 4x4's get stuck on the beach and the tide came in. One picture had the whole front buried in and its tail was facing the sky).
If parts are available through GM, what are the part numbers? I've went to 2 different dealers near by and they were suprised that the computer did not show any skid plating for the denali's.
Is there a third party that makes skid plating for Yukon Denali's?
Is the truck fully equipped with plating and the reason why you can't purchase them? Again, I did notice one small plating between the front tires.
Lastly, shoud I give up because this is an AWD and the truck was not designed for off road use, therefore no skid plating or other protections and give up the idea of going surf fishing?
Please someone point me to the right direction...
TIA
Ned
