Anit-seize On Spark Plug Threads

I'm going to change the spark plugs on my 2004 Silverado with tha 8100 engine in it. Is it a good idea or bad idea to put anti-seize on the threads before I install them?

Yes, but you do not need allot. Just a little dab will do.

It has saved MANY aluminum heads from the dreaded stripped spark plug issue. I don't think it is optional.

Does the 8.1 even have aluminum heads?

Anti seize compound really should be used on any spark plug application. I was just saying that it had saved many aluminum heads. It will make removal of plugs a simple task the next time around.

I don't know if I'd put never-seize on spark plugs, Lock tite would be much better. I'd hate for them to back out.

It's up to everyone if you want to use antiseize but I never do. We just don't have issues with them getting stuck anymore. But dude I hope you are kidding about lock tite. Snug em down and they will not back out, I would strongly suggest not using lock tite and if I went to replace a set and someone had lock tited them down there would be alot added to the labor cost.
