Lots Of Water In Truck?

15002NV

Question

Posted

Ok, Well a few days ago a friend was riding in the back set and said the seats where wet where the mini seat side meets the large seat. I checked it as is was realy wet. So I am thinking rear window? Then this morning we get in the truck and the inside of the glass is frozen over. Had to wipe it down with a towel.

Everything that was close to out side temps. had water on it! Like glass handle of sunroof....

So I am thinking the rear cab has the two air vents and there is one stuck open!?! Or could the truck be getting so cold inside and the hot outside it just does that! Seats are all being removed in the morning.

So any help would be great. Truck has full waranty so dealer will cover it but I like to deal with it if I can.

If I wasn't drinking I would be going crazy!!!!

I've got the same damn problem I thought it was the roof rails, but it appears to be the drains.. How do I get the headliner out to fix the drains. I've got a crew cab, with rear entertainment... It aint funny when water runs outa the drop down screen...

Well LOOONG day removed everything but the dash. Found that the drain tube was backed up. Good thing it is a clear tube. I will also be looking for the 303? wipes. They are what is used to restore rubber. I don't understand why that much water is getting in!

In about 15minutes I will removeing the headliner, all the seats and piller trim. So time will tell. If it is the drain tube that came off I will run to the auto store and get clamps. B/C I don't want to have to do this ever again.

Once a year I remove all the seats and realy detail the truck. SO here we go.

It does have a sun roof?

If so, I be it is your culprit. I had a similar issue with my 2007 Crew Cab. I had water coming in through odd areas started off in the back, I was think windows, leaking door seal, etc. Then I started having issues up front on the drivers side.

Ended up being a the drains for the sun roof. One was clogged and the other was cracked. They run down the 4 corners of the cab/A-pillars. Dealer took care of it and no problems since.

there are issues with the high mount brake light leaking into cab and also the sunroof drains have been known to come off where they atach to the corners of the sunroof.

I went out to my truck one morning after a hard rain and noticed my rear seatbelt was wet. I looked around and found a corner of my headliner wet. Took it to local GM dealer and the rear window seal was leaking. They replaced the seal to the rear window and cleaned the area where the water leaked in. Now no problems. Whew. I got rid to three Dodges in my past for leaking water on me. Once on the floor of the Ram and in the extended cab floor area. Im still keeping the Sierra.
