Fords With Backup Alarm

What is up with all these Fords having the backup alarms. Someone said the dealerships are pushing them like crazy. I've never heard a Chevy with one, I know it's an option. It's so annoying, my neighbor has a new F-150 (that he rarely drives) and it has that backup alarm, I know when he's around because that stupid alarm is going off. [/rant]

I think he's confusing the back-up sensors with an actual backup alarm like big rigs and heavy machinery uses...Goes BEEP BEEP BEEP whenever it's in reverse...Just about every major construction company has em now, but ours are POVs (Personally Owned Vehicles) so not required...Stupid OSHA crap.

I put one on my old truck when I was in high school. A buddy had one as well. People would get pissed when we pulled in the parking lot at the same time

Well, I can see the reason for the ford having them. I know if someone was about to back up a piece of shit over me, I would want to see it coming .

I think that's the point. They are not required on pov's. Maybe ford is trying to appear more commercial.
