Chrysler, Cerberus Reach Alliance Deal With Italy's Fiat

SAN FRANCISCO -- Chrysler LLC and owner Cerberus Capital Management said Monday they entered into a global alliance with Italian auto maker Fiat SPA with the help of the U.S. Treasury. Chrysler said the Fiat alliance will not only help it pay back government loans sooner but strengthens its ability to create and preserve U.S. jobs. The alliance raises the possibility that the U.S. government may invest another $6 billion in Chrysler.

I'm hoping that this really didn't blindside anyone in the know. I am really hoping GM went to Big-O and said "Look, we need you to be the bad guy here so we can get some shit done." I hope.

I sort of looks like that. Now all we need is to bust the U.A.W. and I think things could start to get better. I do feel for the workers sort of. They are all in a real bad spot right now and if the U.A.W. gets busted a lot of them may no longer have a job, and the legacy pay will be gone. It might save GM but what will it do for the economy?

Wait.... the Ford KA is on the Fiat 500's platform? So wouldn't that basically mean in a roundabout way, Chrysler signed a partnership deal with FORD??
