Hi there i have a 2008 Sierra Denali with the 6.2 in it and was wondering who makes a supercharger for it, I know vortech does for the 6.2 escalade but will that work with mine. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks.

First off WELCOME and second is the escalade's engine a vortec or northstar. If it is a 6.2 vortec it should fit the same because its the same engine...

They use basically the same engines, so it should work. Contact them and find out for sure first, though.

Magnuson also makes a fantastic supercharger for the Denali/Escalade. The installation is alot simpler than the Vortech since the Vortech is a centri while the magnacharger is a positive displacement.

I've driven magnacharged 6.2L trucks and was really impressed with how they run. Absolutely silent at idle (they've eliminated the loud blower whine at idle speeds), but once you get on the throttle, they turn into monsters. My local performance shop is getting 580 hp out of the magnacharged 6.2L trucks when combined with long tube headers, cold air intake and higher flow injectors.

....OMG i would love to supercharge my 6.2L....

What do you think these trucks would run???

Oh and you might want to get a stronger driveshaft too. I remember seeing a video on youtube where the guy broke his driveshaft during a race

Welcome aboard! as of yet whipple does not build a kit specifiec for the 6.2L, but i don`t see how different a 6.0l kit could be made to work.

what do you guys recommend the vortec or the magnacharger for a 2009 denali put 2008 by mistake. And what are the differences between the two.

The Vortech is a centrifical supercharger that hangs off the front of the engine. It is essentially a belt driven turbocharger. It'll give alot more top end hp than the magnuson. Is a pain in the ass to install.

The magnacharger is a positive displacement supercharger that sits in the lifter valley and replaces your intake. Instead of using a rotor with blades, it has dual screws with interlocking lobes. It'll give you big gains in torque.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the magnacharger as I just have alot more experience and familiarity with them.

I love my Maggy! Hense my user name. Very civil while driving around town with a slight whine. Silent on the Hi-way. Mine was install by Davenport Motorsports in Calgary. They rate the supercharger at 120hp/120lb on a stock 6.2L. Overall very satisfied.

We will be putting a Magnacharger TVS on our 6.2L. With a cam and headers it should be well over 600HP. My little 5.3L with a Magnacharger 112 is making ~550HP with a cam and headers. Those 6.2Ls have a lot left in them compared to the factory tune!

Welcome, and I will also suggest the Magnacharger kit. I am also playing with the idea of a super charger. Just watched an install film on their site....looks like I could tackle it in a weekend. Good luck!
