It LOOKS like a vacuum port but it's hard to tell much about where / what it is from that pic. If it is a vacuum port, I'd take a small drill bit and drill out the center rather than break anything off. Breaking stuff like that tends to end up with more breakage than you were prepared for and then you're really screwed.

I know how you feel. I fell victim to the Magnetic Fuel Atomizer (magnets on the fuel line), the "Tornado", and some other wasted poducts. That was back when I was in college and young, dumb, and broke. Live and learn I guess.

What gets me is that stuff on Ebay that sells for less than $5 and claims to get you 100MPG+. Thats about as rediculous as the $20 power chip that claims 180HP.

I wonder if i can take the cap (at least it look like one) off and work it on a bench instead of under the hood.

Did you ever find the vacuum port for your guage? Im wanting to install a vac guage as well.

Oh yeah, and it's a resistor that you can stick in the iat and gain at MOST 3 hp, and fuel economy actually goes down. Yeah that crap, they get those resistors from radio shack all day long for a couple cents and then sell them for around 3 bucks, I know because I fell for that stuff also.

I looked at mine yesterday and it's too big to be a port for checking vacuum. At the front of the intake is a part of some sort with a cap that looks more like a place for vacuum hookup than anywhere else on the manifold.

Is the Vortec beauty cover all that is removed in that pic?

Sorry for so many questions, but Ive got more experience with the SBC Vortec motors than the LS based engines.

I would, but thats like a 50' walk to the garage.

I looked and found it. The cap doesnt look like it comes off though. Ill have to look closer. Mabye SEP will chime in. Hopefully he got the guage installed and will post up some pictures.
