I Want To Smoke My Tail Lights

Recommended Posts

I've tried using that spray can tail light smoke/tint and was not satisfied with the results at all. Is there anyone who knows how to do this right? Or anywhere I can ship my lights to and have them smoked? If anyone on here who has done it and "perfected" it, can I ship you my light and some $$ to do it for me?? They are stock tails for a 2001 Suburban.

Any body shop should be able to do it. You'll probably have to sign a waiver. There isn't much you can do to a vehicle that makes it more likely to get hit than tinting the taillights.

It's your call but don't expect to get paid for the damage if you get rear ended. Any savvy adjuster is gonna deny that claim. I know I would.

The best way to go if you want to get them tinted and have a good glossy look to them is to go to a paint shop..All they do is mix half clear and half black..Not sure how much it costs..BTW what Spray tint did you use?

My friends have had good luck with VHT Nightshade paint.

Wetsand with high grit sandpaper, paint, clear, and polish.

I bought a can of some stuff from Pep Boys. Not sure of the name of it, it was a few years ago. And I don't neccesarily want them completely black. I just would like them a bit darker, kinda grayish or "smoked" looking. I don't want them so dark that they look totally black if they aren't lit.
