I have the GMPP touring exhaust and I can feel it a little bit. I think it is more because I can hear it switch that makes me feel it. If I don't pay attention to the sound I don't feel it.

That is a good point. And man, does mine sound lame in V4 mode..... :smash:

In my searches, I am seeing many that have the AFM diabled. I drive about 100 miles a day, so I wanted the AFM. My wife had it in her 07' Suburban and we have never noticed anything when it switches back and forth. This truck was the same, but I see what you are saying. I did the exhaust for sound and hopefully to gain some MPG. I also want to do a K&N FIPK cold air kit and a tuner. I am worried about the tuner, after reading some posts about GM being so pissy about that and the warranty.

I wonder if you have a Diablo or similar, if they can tell you did it if you remove it before taking it in...... another search for me!!

I have been struggling with the idea of dual exhaust for a couple of months now. Everything I have read says that it sounds like crap as you were saying in 4cyl mode. One thing I was going to tell you that I stumbled across was that once AFM was turned off, there was only a mile per gallon difference in city and on highway. If that is true, it is worth it. To be honest, if I was all that concerned about mpg, I wouldn't be driving an 8cyl truck and would be driving some hybrid go cart!!! I also heard that the diablo will leave ghost codes so that gm can not tell that you have it tuned, not for sure if this is true or not.

I am still searching on the subject of the tuner. I really want one, but don't want to risk the warranty trouble. Hell, I paid for extra and they would love nothing more than to void it..... :smash:

By the way, do the exhaust. The little bit of time you don't like the V4 sound is well worth when you put your foot in it. I guess with the exhaust, you are screwed on the fuel mileage anyway, because you will have your foot in it ALL the time. :wtf:

I rode with a buddy yesterday who has a dodge ram with magna flo exhaust and MDS which is the same as AFM, he just drives in town with the over drive off to help. It wouldn't be as annoying on the highway just quieter. The only thing he said he hated was when on the highway and stepped on it, it was like it has to climb it's way out of the 4cyl mode and took forever to accelerate. My fix for that will be black bear tune and turn afm off!!! Check out the black bear tune, you can put your old pcm back in if you have to get warranty work and they would never know!

When i installed my gibson super truck, when it would switch into 4cyl mode, it would create a rumble and sometimes vibrate the truck....So I just used my Diablosport to disable DoD...Just drove up and back to Minnesota from Indiana...still got 19 mpg.

Same here. Very minor. Still love my GMPP touring, after 18 months on the truck!

No, sorry about that......Suburban was bone stock, wife has an Impala SS now and it is stock also, you cannot tell when it switches. My truck was not noticeable until the exhaust. Not really an issue, just irratating. I will likely do a tuner to disable it. The Volant cold air kit is ordered, I went with the new Donaldson air filter, I am excited.

I will keep you posted. Rick

Just for anyone that is searching. I just installed the Corsa Touring system on mine. If anything, it is quieter than stock when the AFM kicks in. This system is awesome.

I was thinking about turning off my AFM, but I am not sure now.

I also heard that Corsa is going to start making the GMPP exhaust again.
