Hey everybody, it's Zane from GM-Trucks.com. Today we've got a walkthrough of the new Silverado
0:05
HD's amazing camera system designed for trailering. If you didn't catch our first video on the
0:10
HD's design, I've got a link to it below. Let's get to this
0:14
Just to talk through, show you some of the new trailering techs. If you hold up short
0:19
here, I'll walk you through. Sure, we're gonna try it. From a customer visibility perspective
0:24
so there's a lot of things happening with the camera views here. So, we're gonna do
0:28
this slow-mo course, so this is gonna go right, left, we're gonna go all the way down
0:32
What's gonna happen on the screen here is it's gonna bias and shift, which helps you
0:39
see down the side of the trailer as you're making those turns, so you don't clip the cones. When we get to the end, we're gonna do a loop around the stack of cones down there
0:47
we're gonna try to get the trailer tires as close to that stack of cones. And then we're
0:51
gonna do a couple more maneuvers and I'll walk you through once we get over there. Okay, so go ahead and roll
1:13
It shifts for you so you can see down the side. So you drive with the center stack or do you drive..
1:29
Right. This is kind of a weird use case, right? Most of it would be driving down the road
1:36
you know, we're kind of forcing you to look down a lot. So you come out of here, you're
1:39
gonna do a circle, go on the far side and do a circle, and you wanna get the trailer
1:43
tires close to that stack. Oop, stop, turn here. Oh, sorry. Sorry, back up, not out
1:48
Back up. Back up? Back up a little bit. I don't back up
1:54
I never back up with a trailer. It's just going the wrong way
1:58
Alright, just stop here. And now turn. And now put that view back up so you can see
2:11
So go ahead and cut hard. See how close we can get. There you go. There you're good. Good. Now turn again. We're gonna go all the way around
2:22
and then we'll straighten out. Do another loop? Yeah, do another loop, sorry
2:35
And I'm trying to get close to this guy in the middle, right? Yeah, you did good the first time. So this time we're gonna shoot out a little bit off to the left here. Yep
2:42
Get the trailer straight and we're gonna go backwards. No! Yeah, I'll show you. I'll show
2:48
you a view. If you don't want to go all the way, that's fine. Okay, got it. So straighten out a little bit more. Go forward a little bit more
2:57
It'll make it a little easier. Alright, go ahead and throw it in reverse
3:02
So if you're gonna use the mirrors in this view, a tip is to hold your hand at 6 and
3:07
move the bottom of the steering wheel the way you want the trailer to go. Which mirror? So if you want the trailer to go to the... Okay. Steer it that way
3:14
So just kind of roll nice and slow. It's starting to drift on you
3:28
Yep, you're right. That's the wrong way. Yep. Alright, stop. You might want to straighten it back out. Otherwise we're gonna get too far
3:52
Yep. Yep. Keep going
4:04
Come around. Alright, if you want to stop here I can show you. Okay
4:13
So, the idea is... The rear trailer view is very helpful if you're backing into a campsite
4:19
Yeah. So that helps you see behind you. So what we were trying to do is get close to that stop sign
4:23
Okay, got it. So now we can drive forward. I'll show you a couple more views that are useful
4:34
You can go to a little... And then stop at that stop sign. So this is transparent trailer view. Cool
4:43
You'll see this a lot tomorrow when you go on the run up the hill
4:48
So we'll have this set up on some of the trailers. So it gives you good vision as you're driving down the road
4:53
So now is there another camera on the back of the trailer? Yeah. So it's the same camera that we did with the other view. This is just stitched differently, cropped, and then worked in with the side camera views
5:04
Okay. So how many total cameras do we have? Total between truck and trailer, eight
5:09
Okay, and it gives us 15 different views. Yep. I can walk you through all of them
5:13
You don't need to. Real quick. So the other cool thing with this, if you were going fast and you did a sudden stop and you want to make sure you got precious cargo, here's another camera view that's helpful
5:22
Oh, inside. Wow. Inside the trailer. Make sure your vet's okay. Or the horses
5:28
Or the horses. Or your kids. Or a birthday cake. Whatever. The next maneuver, you can use this front camera. You want to pull in straight ahead. Try to get close to those cones lined up on the ground there
5:42
In the parking space? Yeah, the pseudo parking space here. So this view's nice, especially with this big front end you got. There you go
5:58
Got it. Okay, now back out. Nice and slow. Wish my SUV had that on it. Right
6:08
I don't know if that view's screwing you up, but that's a combo view
6:16
A little bit more. You should be able to turn to the right here and then right back where we started
6:32
It's hard to remember you have a trailer back there. So we've topped down on the left side here
6:37
Front perspective. So you've got the camera in the front. And this stitches the camera in the front on the tailgate and then the side mirrors. Here
6:47
And this is the same thing but in reverse. The rear truck
6:51
This one's a rear overhead. And then a front overhead. This one's a bowl view. So it's kind of like that pretend camera in front
7:02
Helps you with back up maneuvers really slow. You can see what's around you
7:07
This one's a front perspective. So if you turn the steering wheel, you'll see the tires
7:11
So if you're trying to do a parallel parking or something or a curbside parking. Nice
7:16
You can see that. This button turns on the top down view
7:22
This one's all the trailer. This ribbon's all the trailer view. So this is the biasing view that we just used
7:28
Rear trailer view. That's transparent trailer. This one's cargo bed. So let's see what's going on back there
7:35
This one's hitch view. This view's nice. Because you can use your rear truck view and you get close, you switch to this view and you shift to park
7:42
And we automatically set the park brake in this view. And then I think you saw the interior trailer
