Hi, I'm Zane Mirva from GM-Trucks.com and today we're talking about locks
0:09
If you're anything like us, then you have a truck because you need a truck
0:14
In our case, we're towing or hauling something almost every single week
0:18
And recently we picked up a brand new enclosed trailer, which you might have seen in our
0:23
Suburban Towing video. If you haven't, check it out. At the same time, we also grabbed a brand new adjustable hitch
0:30
So new trailer, new hitch, everything's awesome, right? Well, not exactly. With a really expensive hitch and an even more expensive enclosed trailer, all of a
0:40
sudden we realized we had a problem. How do we keep people from stealing them
0:45
And every trailer, no matter how big or how small, has the same exact problem
0:51
They're literally designed to be hooked up and hauled away at a moment's notice, whether
0:57
it's by you or someone else. And the same problem exists with your hitch
1:04
You just pull out the cotter pin and before you know it, somebody's walked off with your
1:08
couple hundred dollar investment. So we quickly realized that we needed to invest in some sort of security for our truck and
1:17
our trailer. But with over seven locations that need to be locked up, the idea of heading down to
1:22
a hardware store and grabbing a fistful of locks and now having a key ring full of keys
1:28
just kind of seemed like a hassle. And then we remembered a company that we had met at SEMA just a few short years ago that
1:38
offers custom keyed weatherproof locks for exactly this situation. So I gave them a call
1:46
And they sent us all this. Everything that we're going to need to secure our truck, our trailer, and all of our related
1:53
towing accessories. The only thing they didn't send us was a set of keys
1:58
And why? Because we already have them. And they came with our truck
2:02
The thing that makes bolt locks unique is they use the door key from your key fob as
2:07
the key for your locks. Now is that solution as good as it sounds
2:11
Let's unpack everything and find out. So the first thing we're going to do once we unpack all these products is key them to
2:18
our specific truck key. Now they don't come from the factory keyed to your truck
2:24
That's something you have to do. And it's a relatively simple process. We're going to show you that on the padlock
2:29
But all of these products are keyed and matched exactly the same way
2:34
So once you've unpacked your bolt locks, keying them to your truck's key is extremely simple
2:40
They come with a cover. And that's to remind you that you haven't yet keyed the lock
2:44
So the first thing you're going to do is take that cover off
2:47
Then you're going to take the key out of your key fob and insert it into the bolt lock
2:55
You'll then take the key and make a 360 degree revolution. And just like that, this lock is now set to your truck's key
3:14
And once you've matched your lock to your truck keys, they work just like any other lock
3:42
So you can hook your stuff up, and it's secure. It's also worth noting that bolt locks are covered in rubber, which means that no amount
3:49
of jiggling is going to cause any damage to your trailer. If you want more information, head on over to BoltLock.com

Again I'm Zane Merva for GM-Trucks.com. Thanks for watching my video today, and I'll see you again next time
