All-new from the ground up, the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is flying off dealers lots faster than Chevy can send them off the production line. We’ve recently spent an entire week driving one and…

Here are Ten Things We Love About The 2021 Chevy Tahoe & One We Don’t

  1. Modern Design
The 2021 Tahoe has an entirely new look. A sleek front end resembles the Silverado while a more upright profile allows for more room inside. LED headlights and turn signals give the Tahoe an upscale look while a flatter rear end provides improvements in aerodynamics.
  2. Industry Leading Infotainment System
The infotainment system on the all-new Tahoe is among the best in the industry. A large touch screen is easy and intuitive to use. Wireless android auto and apple car play mean you’re always connected. Available 4G data plans allow you to turn your vehicle into a moving hotspot. In short, you’re never going to be frustrated getting the information you need.
  3. A 5.3L V8 Engine Paired With A 10-speed Transmission
Plucked straight out of the Silverado, the 5.3L V8 engine found in the Tahoe is staunch, powerful, and ready to haul. Paired with a 10-speed automatic and equipped with dynamic fuel management, the new Tahoe has the best of both worlds. Power and fuel efficiency. All while producing 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.
  4. Optional Heads Up Display
With technology pulled straight from jet fighters, the 2021 Tahoe gives you more information without taking your eyes off the road through a full-featured heads up display. It can display your current speed, the status of the cruise control, an overview of the active safety systems, and even the speed limit.
  5. Lane departure and Crash Avoidance Technology
The 2021 Tahoe is loaded with safety technology. From blind-spot monitoring to rear cross traffic alert, you’re protected against some of the most common accident-causing situations. Lane departure warning with active correction alongside automatic collision avoidance braking mean the 2021 Tahoe is among the safest vehicles on the road.
  6. Adaptive Cruise Control
Cruising down the highway in the all new Tahoe has never been easier with available adaptive cruise control. Just set the maximum speed you’d like to travel and the gap between the vehicle ahead of you. Chevy’s adaptive cruise system does all of the work, following at a set distance and changing your vehicle’s speed based on the traffic ahead of you. It can even bring you to a full stop automatically.
  7. 360 Surround View Monitor and Rear View Mirror Cameras
Worried about what it would be like driving and parking such a massive vehicle? Worry not. Chevrolet has you covered with two key technologies. A surround view camera system allows you to get a close up look all around the Tahoe during parking and tight maneuvers. A rear view camera mirror provides supreme visibility, no matter who or what blocks the view of the mirror.
  8. A Usable Third Row With Actual Fold Flat Seats
If you’ve owned a Tahoe in the past, you’re well aware that the rear seats have never really folded that flat, until now. And speaking of the third row, our 8th favorite thing about the new Tahoe is that the third row is actually usable by adults. With a lower floor height, the third row has a more natural seating position. Granted it’s not as roomy as the second row, but you’ll never feel bad about stuffing uncle frank in the way back ever again.
  9. Storage Everywhere!
Everywhere you look inside the 2021 Tahoe, you’ll see storage. The doors alone each have three pockets for stashing all of your important stuff. There’s a large area ahead of the cup holders that also features a wireless phone charger. Next to the infotainment screen, there’s a deep cubby for credit cards or other small items.
  10. All New Independent Rear Suspension
For over 100 years the Tahoe and it’s big brother the Suburban have been equipped with a truck-like solid rear axle. But for 2021 that’s no more. The Tahoe now sports a fully independent rear suspension and the difference is startling. When Chevy tossed the solid rear end they also removed any resemblance to driving a full-size truck. Bouncy ride? Gone. Harsh ride over rough roads? Gone. In their place is a smooth, predictable, comfortable ride that reminds us more of the Chevy Equinox than the Chevy Silverado.

The One Thing We Do Not Like
The price tag. This extremely loaded 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier 4×4 has a starting price of $65 thousand dollars. With the optional premium package that adds many of the optional features we’ve just talked about the MSRP balloons to over $70-thousand dollars. That’s a lot of money.

The Tahoe has long been known as the everyday family hauler. At 70 thousand dollars, the line between working man’s ride and luxury vehicle has been completely blurred. At that price point the Tahoe starts to compete with full out aspirational luxury vehicles like the Land Rover, BMW, and Lexus.

Conclusion
But with all of that said, this is by far the best Chevrolet Tahoe yet with more features, conveniences, and technology than any Tahoe that’s come before it. We’d make a fair bet that’s the reason Chevy dealers can’t keep them on the lot and consistently get full asking price.

The new Chevy Tahoe is just that good.
