The refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra will debut on October, 21st- hot on the heels of the introduction of the also new 2022 Chevrolet Silverado.
GMC has officially invited journalists to preview the heavily refreshed 2022 GMC Sierra later this month. Media will gather virtually to learn about the truck on the morning of October 21st, with an embargo on the truck breaking at 8 pm eastern, GM-Trucks.com has learned.

2022 GMC Sierra – What Should We Expect?
Like the 2022 Silverado, the 2022 Sierra will get some key upgrades, focused mainly on its interior and exterior.

New Exterior: The 2022 Sierra will be the benefactor of heavily refreshed front-end styling, but don’t expect a huge departure from what we’ve seen on the 2019-2021 model. Like the Silverado, the Sierra will most likely get an evolution of the design theme instead of a revolution. Look to the 2022 GMC Terrain and its vertically stacked headlights as a hint to how the new front end of the 2022 Sierra may play out.
Expect the biggest styling changes to stay upfront. Like the 2022 Silverado, there won’t be much changed in the rear end of the 2022 Sierra, aside from warmed-over bumper design and different sized bumper steps.
New Interior: Like the Silverado, the Sierra will get an entirely new interior. Expect work truck trims to keep the outgoing interior, like the Silverado. SLE and above will get a new interior with GM’s brand new 13.4-inch infotainment system that has “Google Built In”. We don’t believe the Sierra will receive the same interior as the 2022 Silverado but we’re confident it will be a significant upgrade from the current model. Expect the infotainment center, shifter, and gauge cluster to be the same as the 2022 GMC HUMMER EV.
GMC has also previously announced at the 2022 Sierra will get Super Cruise, General Motors’ anonymous highway driving feature. The 2022 Silverado also gets Super Cruise as an option, but only on High Country trim levels. It’s possible the Sierra Denali may be the only model to have Super Cruise as an option or as standard.
The 2022 Sierra will definitely also get the same fully digital gauge cluster as we’ve seen in the 2022 Silverado.
Difference Between Trims: The Sierra Denali might get its own unique interior as the Yukon Denali does. Spyshots captured previously (shown below) indicate the Sierra will get a different interior than the Silverado, but that might be only for Denali trim levels.
No Engine Changes – Like the 2022 Chevy Silverado, we don’t expect the 2022 Sierra to have any engine additions or changes for the new year.
Sierra AT4X? – Will the 2022 Silverado ZR2 get a GMC counterpart? Rumors say yes, but we’ll never know until the 21st.
When Will The 2022 GMC Sierra Go On Sale?
