Which 14 bolt 10.5” ff can I use on my 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71? What type of vehicle would I pull it from?

Hi community, seems like there is alot of information out there about the various GM 14 bolt axles, how to try and ID them from the outside and what model year/trim trucks have what. I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 crew cab, standard bed, Z71 with a 6.0 gas. I know most of these come with 4.10s but the RPO code (GT4) exsists on my tuck indicating it has 3.73s. Funny enough the RPO references online seem a bit out of order as my truck has the L96 code which according to some indicates I have a 2.0L I4 lol. So I’m going to re-gear and ditch the G80 for a truetrac. To my knowledge there are no RPO codes that tell you weither you have a 10.5 or 11.5aam axle? Anyone have any insight as to which I have or how to find out without taking the diff cover off and measuring? I know you can take it to a dealer and they will tell you but they also told me the truck had 4.10s when I brought it to them after I bought it used from a CarMax. Also pretty sure upfront I have a GM 9.25 unless anyone knows better?

So I have a Sierra 2500HD with the 6.0 and apparently 4.10 gears. 2 wheel drive. I know that may have been an option that year, but it does seem possible as the only upgrades on the truck are AC, Cruise, and tow package. Someone must have bought for pulling. Anyway we put a dump bed on it and use it as a chipper truck in our tree service. Even when we try to fill it half full and pull the chipper, we could use more torque. (I AM FULLY AWARE THAT WE NEED TO UPGRADE TO A BIG FRAME TRUCK!) but in the mean time, I've got to make this work. Would you guys go to 4.56, 4.88 or all the way to 5.13? I know highway cruising will be a thing of the past but I really need to focus on towing and taking a load off that automatic tranny. I assume when we sell the truck the next owner will be interested in the same thing with it being a light duty dump truck. Some stats on the truck are: 8 foot flat bed with the custom removable sides, top cowl, and rear tail gate probably weighs around 1500lbs alone. 5 ton hoist kit has been flawless, and dumped everything we've ever loaded it with, even though we changed the pivot point to dump higher than 45 degrees, slightly lowering its capacity. Air lift/air bag helpers with compressor kit so we can keep it full when heavy and low when empty. Doing a light tree job 1/2 day, we put about 2000lbs of chips in it, and tow another 3000-4000 in equipment. On my worst day we dumped 5,500lbs and I felt like a super idiot when we weighed in.

Hey Guys, I have a question that may or may not have been asked on here before. So if I am reinventing the wheel here please lead me in the right direction. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 Z71, however it is far from stock. Lifted 11 inches with 37's,Cammed 6.2L engine swap, 6l80E 6 speed trans swap, BDS traction bars, 4.10 gears, detroit locker etc. I just picked up a 14 bolt hybrid 9.5 axle out of a newer vortec max truck that I want to swap over. However the new 14 bolt comes with (JD9) disc brakes and my truck currently has drums on the factory 10 bolt. What all do i need to do to get the disc brakes converted? I have heard that everything should bolt up, but I would just need a proportioning valve for the discs. Is that true? Since this axle is out of a similar year/bodystyle truck I am assuming that everything is pretty much identical besides the disc brakes. Any other tips before I dive head first into this axle swap? Any help is appreciated...I sick and tired of snapping ring gears on the 10 bolt axles...time for a big boy axle!
