I have an 02 Silverado 1500hd. It’s got the original bucket seats with the full center console. I’d like to swap it for a bench seat. Is this possible? I’ve heard of there being air ducts under the console?

I'm trying to buy a 2004 Silverado 1500hd with the 6.0 and 4l80e. When test driving the transmission would shift through all the gears fine but if you let off the gas as soon as the rpms hit 2000 they would drop to 1500 to 1000 and there would be a loud grind/whine until you tapped the gas again. I'm assuming it's the transmission, maybe the torque converter. Any help would be great so I can figure out if the transmission would have to be rebuilt or if it's something simpler to fix

Having fuel issues. Replaced everything internal on motor to make a stroker. The intake is original. Before fuel pump and FPR change fuel pressure was 42psi now its 49psi after fuel pump and FPR. When it runs for a min it won’t start back up for at least 30min.

New to this forum and need some insight. I recently picked up an 01 2WD 1500hd thinking the towing capacity was in the 9,000# range but after looking at the NADAguides it lists the 01 2wd model at 5000# max towing capacity. I purchased this thing used with 95k miles needing it to tow a LS swapped Nissan 350z to the drift track which weighs roughly 3500LBS on a flatbed car hauler weighing right around 2000LBS. Add a few sets of spare wheels, tools, and parts and I’m estimating I’ll be pulling around 6000-6500LBS total. The car is nearly finished and I’m looking to go to the track soon but now I’m second guessing my tow rig purchase. Is there anybody on here that can give me insight on how much they’ve pulled with an 01 2WD 1500HD? Looking at this NADAguides has me nervous, so any help on how much this thing will actually tow would be really appreciated. Not sure why the same year truck in 4WD configuration is listed at double the towing capacity... Thanks for any help!

Im planning on geting a new muffler for my truck with the 6.0. I want to keep it all stock with same pipes and cats. My question is what offset do I need the new muffler to have? Im planning on a Thrush 17649 Welded Muffler since im on a high school senior budget, and I know its not the best out there but its cheap and should get me through until next summer. Also about how much would it cost to have just the muffler installed?

Hey Guys, I have a 2006 Silverado 1500HD 4WD. Since I bought it, the headlights and ALL interior lights(cluster, radio, cabin lights) have dimmed/flickered while the engine is running.I Figured it was the light switch, and i would replace it when i got to it.... Yesterday, I was idling at an intersection, and all the electronics started seriously dimming and then died. the engine was still running(BARELY) and i was next to a grocery store so i limped it in to the parking lot with the power in and out, and it died. But before it died, the dash read "SERVICE CHARGING SYSTEM" & "SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM".... Thing is, I just re-did the brakes less than a year ago, so I'm thinking it's all related and the brakes are fine. So far I have checked and cleaned the ground to the frame(down below the battery.... are there other points in need of cleaning??), both battery terminals, the connections in the little red fusable link box to the alternator, and the connection going into the alt. from that box. I also took the Alternator into O'reilly first and it passed. My old battery was a little low, so i just bought a new one as well. The BRAND NEW battery is testing 13.5 while running, with a load or without a load, and tests around 12 while off. I saw something about a MEGA fuse on the passenger firewall, but it is not there on my truck. I watched a YOUTUBE video on a '04, and so i know where it is on that model but mine isn't there. Has anyone had this problem, and WHAT WAS YOUR SOLUTION?!?!? Thanks in advance. EDIT: after typing this something occurred to me.... the previous owner had a remote start system installed, which also locks and unlocks the doors. My FOB died so i wasnt using it for about 6 months, but started again about 2 weeks ago. I did not use it at all yesterday or anytime for maybe 3 days before the issues.... could this be causing it? I mean, I'm not using the system while the issues are popping up, and it's low-voltage so my gut says it's not the problem, but maybe?

I have a 02 1500HD and I really hate how low the front end is, so I settled on a leveling kit, but because I tow quite a bit I still want a bit of "rake" so I plan on ordering blocks as well. Sort of a budget lift, if you will. Going to order this leveling kit: http://www.readylift.com/products/chevy/chevy-silverado-1500/leveling-kits/chevy-silverado-1500hd-2500hd-leveling-kit-2000-2010-2wd-4wd-8-lug-2-5/front-leveling-suspension-forged-torsion-key-66-3050.htm And these blocks (considering 2"): http://www.readylift.com/products/gmc/gmc-sierra-2500-3500/rear-block-kits/chevy-silverado-gmc-sierra-1999-2010-2wd-4wd-8-lug-1-block-kit/chevy-2000-2013-block-kit-66-3051.html The level includes shock extenders. I have read almost every topic I could find on the internet about whether shock extenders are a good thing or not, and I am getting to the point I just want something that works. I farm and this truck spends a fair bit of time in the fields doing some light-medium off-road work. Just wondered if this setup will work for what I want? Not really worried about the ride that much, used to the 1-ton for the most part. I am a little concerned about destroying my front end with extenders, in my experience anything that "spaces" or "extends" is usually a bad thing. I don't want to piece together some kind of mis-match setup, I am just wondering if these two things will work for my needs. ORRR would an add-a-leaf give me what I am looking for in the rear? Less sag when towing, while the front is raised a bit? Something like this: http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/ran-rs60645/overview/make/chevrolet/model/silverado-1500-hd Truck:

I currently put a 6in BDS lift on my 2003 silverado 2500hd i also put all new ball joints, tie rods, shocks, wheel bearings, and control arm bushings. well i put it all together and when putting the torsion bar keys back on it seemed way to tight. i snapped a breaker bar and bent a ball joint press. i messed around with it and then was able to get it in easier. well now i have no suspension? put your truck up on jack stands with the stands under your frame. that is what it is like. well maybe i turned the key down one to many notches...? no! if i move the key up one notch the truck sits on the floor. it also looks like the torsion bars have a bend to them? i am very confused and do not understand why this is happening i could use some help. thank you. Also i currently do not have my motor in it btw.

I have a 2002 Silverado 2500 with a 6.0L. Does anyone know if a 1500HD or 2500HD hood will fit on the regular 2500 or if the inner components are different? I have been told various different answers and am looking to swap for the raised HD hood.
