My 2016 Suburban’s auxiliary ports and features (USBs, wireless charging pad, 12V) blink off briefly when the doors are shut while cranked. This can cause my aftermarket headrest monitors to power off and back on if I get out of a cranked car to pump gas, hand a kid something in the back seat, run into gas station or restaurant, etc. This is extremely frustrating on road trips, making a pit stop and having to turn the TVs back on, DVD player back on, etc. Sometimes if the key fob is left in the car it won’t blink off, but not always. Every time this happens I hear a click, like a light blinking, behind the dash as the door is closed. What is happening back there, triggered by the door closing, that’s causing a sudden loss of power to so many auxiliary items? Attached video shows what happens to a cranked car when the door is closed with fob outside the car. I have a Blu-ray player, wired into a wire in the dash labeled for the BCM, but several other items have the same reaction to shutting the door while cranked with fob outside. Much thanks. Something that should be noted. I have now had experience with three Chevy/GMC trucks. Every time it rains/snows the speakers, sometimes the windows, side mirror controls won't work for 2-5 days, not until the inside of the doors dry out. Even with the weatherpfoofing foam panel that supposedly seals the interior of the door cavity, moisture still penetrates the space, shorts the various components. My friends work truck, door speakers could be counted on to stop playing after every rain or snowfall for 3-5 days. Once dried out-no problem, everything worked fine again. Noticed same thing on girlfriends truck and another friends personal truck. Just wanted everyone to be aware, this is definitely an issue with our Chevy/GMC Trucks. If something suddenly stops working in the door, dry out with a blow dryer or wait several days before you buy speakers or other parts to fix a problem. You may just need to pop you door panel and add some silicone sealant here and there. Did that with girlfriends truck. Fixed speakers going out intermittently.

Does anybody know what the 2019 Sierra body parts are made from? The doors, hood and tailgate seem to be made of some type of composite material. I'm having it rustproofed and just am curious.

I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500. The door lock on the driver side rear works sometimes, the driver side works sometimes, and the passenger side front does not work. I replaced the actuator on the passenger side door and that didn't work. I've had this door fixed for this problem many times when it was under warranty from the dealer. Now today all door locks worked for a couple of times and now its back to the old problem. The door lock on the driver side rear works sometimes, the driver side works sometimes, and the passenger side front does not work. Also, the driver door and driver rear door locks sometimes when you put it in drive and then unlocks when you put it in park. This is driving me crazy. Does anyone know what is going on with this? and how to fix this?

I hope this is the appropriate sub group, if it is not, I would appreciate an admin moving it to the right one if possible. I have a 2008 Tahoe with door lock issues. All 4 doors are acting up, I know the left rear motor is out, because it will not move at all, but the other three are acting strange. Usually, on first try, all the doors will unlock, or lock with the remote or when put in drive or park as expected. A little weak, but work. But if the button (remote or door buttons) are pushed several more times, the locks do not lock or unlock. They act like they want to and move a little, but do not move completely. THe more I push the buttons, the weaker they get. I thought the actuators or motors migght be bad, but they do move, just not enough. But on some occasions, usually first try when going to the vehicle, they work normal. Do I just change the door actuators, or is there a different problem I should be looking at? Thanks for any advice. Oren H.

Hello all Not new to the form but I don't post much. But I do have a question on my 2004 sierra GMC 4.3 base model no power opts. My son has the same year make and model truck but his is full power opts. The motor blow in his and he's going to part it out but told me if I wanted power locks windows and mirrors that I could take the whole door and switch them with mine. To me that sounds cool but will it work like that? Do I need the fuse box from his truck or does mine have it but just not in use because I don't have those opts. Any help would be nice. Thank you

So I have an 07 classic ext cab that I got about a year ago. I've been having an issue with my doors rattling really bad when I hit pot holes or going down curbs even driving on uneven roads it rattles really bad. There's no body damage or anything g like that so I'm kind of at a dead end. Any help or suggestions are welcome and appreciated thanks for reading
