Did a search for this on the forum but saw only mentions of them.... Looking for some insight on the BBKs for my '16 Silverado... Wanting to here from current members/owners of BBKS what Pros, Cons, Comparisons, and experiences they've encountered with installing a BBK... Looking at some of the major brands like Brembo, Wilwood, Baer, StopTech, PowerStop, Rolloface, AP Racing, etc... Do you have just the front or rear installed? Drilled, Dimpled, Slotted, Combo rotors?

So I am currently on vacation 300 miles from home. My truck is a 16 1500 Z71 and has about 33000 miles on it and all of the sudden driving on a flat surface grade braking will enable. The truck is also shifting randomly and violently. Sometimes when making turns in auto mode it will feel as though the 4wd system is engaged. Anyone else encounter these issues? Anyone might know what could wrong that I can fix real quick while I'm away?

Good evening, I have a 2016 Silverado Custom double cab and I was wondering if anyone has this particular issue that I have been dealing with for quite some time. I purchased the truck brand new from my local dealership and as time went by it developed this clattering noise. This particular noise tends to appear when I am either braking while entering an intersection or driving and slow breaking. It sounds like its coming from the middle compartment of the truck and I cant seem to figure out what the deal with it is. I have tried with no success to record the noise in order to take it to the dealership to no avail. I have taken it to the dealership but they tell me that I have to replicate the sound in order for them to be able to determine a diagnostic in order to fix it. I took the tech on a drive but I was unable to duplicate the sounds. It sounds like its a progressive clanking noise of two metal pieces. The sound is not constant but rather it tends to build up in noise and then clutters down. The truck has only 11k miles on it and all have been placed by me. If anyone can please help me with this so that I can take it to the dealership with something in order for them to handle this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have been looking and have seen several post describing a similar issue but have not seen any resolution. My 2012 Sierra just started jerking either left or right randomly. The more I drove it I realized the steering wheel was also cocked a few degrees of center...then after a "Jerking episode" the steering wheel would be cocked off center but to the other direction. 7 weeks ago I put in 2" spacers to level the truck. In the process I had to replace both upper control arms. I took the truck in for an alignment and they replaced the ball joints on the lower control arms. Now $800 later and maybe 300 miles my truck is jerking left during hard braking or right during acceleration. When I say jerk I mean puts me in the other lane or almost off the shoulder. The only other time it jerked was when I hit the first set of rumble strips coming to a stop sign (before I began to brake)....almost like something jostled and caused the same jerk that put me well over the center line. At this point it is not being driven until I get it looked at or fixed. Checking to see if anyone has ideas or a known cause so I can get to the root of the problem right away rather than have a shop guess and come away only with hundreds of dollars spent with no solution. This is my weekend vehicle for the most part so it hasn't been used a lot since the alignment and surely hasn't been abused.

Hi all, Pseduo newbie here. Not new to mechanics or even GM trucks, just new to the GMT900 platform. Hoping you guys could help me out. I've searched google and this forum looking for answers, but have not been able to find anything similar to what I'm experiencing. Please forgive me if I missed an obvious thread. I'm not entirely sure what I need to be searching for. Was hoping you guys could steer me. We bought a low miles (71K) 2009 Silverado from a dealer recently, and it started having transmission issues within 1,000 miles. It came with a dealer-provided lifetime power-train warranty, but so far, the experience with the dealer defines the very essence of poor experience. They basically drive it a couple miles, not even far enough to get it warmed up, and then spit out the trusty old "could not replicate". So, I'm looking for a direction to point them, or maybe even a TSB? 2009 Silverado 1500 CCSB Z71, LC9/6L80E. Factory tow package. What is happening is this: When the transmission has warmed up, and you're going generally over 50mph, but sometimes slower, when coming to a stop the truck will surge and try to pull for a brief moment. And sometimes it will do this 2-3 times in rapid succession. It isn't really that the engine is surging, it feels more like the torque converter is locking/ unlocking rapidly. But, it will pull, even with you off the gas, and holding the brake. And if you watch the tachometer, it seems to synchronize with the downshifts the transmission makes as you're slowing. In a few cases, it has taken up all the drivetrain slack pretty suddenly and led to some fairly audible clunking/jerking. I should note, this transmission also has the very hard 2-3 shift, but, again, the dealer "can no replicate", at least not on their dime. Now, I saw some reference on a Pontiac forum, under the 6l80E in the G8, reference a software update released for 2009 trucks, but could not find anything about it anywhere else. I asked the dealer to check for software updates, but was told there was none. Has anyone had a similar experience with the TC locking/unlocking? Thanks in advance.

Okay, I have researched this problem in great depth only to find!!!!! Not a damn thing. Now, the solution. 2003 Silverado 1500HD 4x4 76,000 miles on it. The problem: while at idle I would turn the wheel and get a crazy vibration/pulsation in the wheel. This also happened while pushing the brake sitting still. At idle I'd push my brake and I would get a pulsation. This could also be heard under the hood. At a full turn, while sitting still it would make a vibration sound so loud and so fast it sounded like a buzz. So, like I said, I couldn't find the solution and I was getting tired of the "Have you checked your fluid" comments. The braking system is a hydro boost, which I thought could be the issue. The problem WAS the power steering pump. On these trucks the reman'd pumps WILL NOT WORK. You have to use a GM original or you're setting yourself up for failure. Your buddy tells you otherwise, tell him to put his money where his mouth is. The point of this thread is to save y'all the stress and $ that I lost. Please pass this along if you or a friend experience this problem. Props to AUTO ELECTRIC in Johnson City, TN. The temps are in the 30's right now so I ha them do the work and they did a fantastic job.
