Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my trans. 4l60e .. Out of the blue one day it would engage after start up for about 3 mins. Then it would completely fail .. No movement in any gear... Turn it off for a 5 min crank and it repeated.. fixed that problem... Filter and seal was bad and not allowing it to seal off and couldn't transfer enough fluid... After it was fixed it worked fine.. i had to use 4wd a week later and manually sifted to 1st and there was nothing it just reved no movement or noises .. Tried 2nd -3rd same results.. it works fine in drive pulls hard no strange noises or funny feelings..shifts through all gears fine .. Any idea why it won't engage manually? Thanks-B

Heya folks, I have come across a 1993 chevy silverado 3500 with a swapped engine (502) I have little to no experience with cars. I've been looking at it with a mechanic who is considerably more experienced having worked on Cummins Diesels for a transport company. He's working on a truck of his own. I was trying to help him out by figuring out the firing order we've tried various ones, It doesn't appear to be misfiring but I have little experience with v8's so i'm not sure what a 502 or a 454 should sound like firing order-wise. I'd happily post a recording. Truck also has injection issues which means it needs a bit of help every time to start. It's also currently stuck in limp-mode as it will not exceed 1800rpm's. The computer has been 'tampered' with, presumably when the block was changed. It's currently with another mechanic who has a diagnostic system. Basically, I was hoping someone could post the firing order of a 502 and I could check when I get her back from the mechanic. Thank you all in advance

Ok. So I have been battling myself on what I want to do for exhaust. I had just recently rebuilt the engine as well as boring it thirty thousandths over and threw some shorty headers on it. I took a gander underneath my truck and it looks like it would be easy to turn into a dual exhaust. What it is it comes down from the header and its dual all the way until the muffler in the back. Goes into Muffler dual inlet then single outlet. I thought just cutting the muffler off and putting two glass packs underneath. Considering it's winter where I am I was going to wait and buy a bent exhaust that arches over the driver side and make it connect to the glass pack on the driver side. Then reuse or even buy a new exhaust pipe that goes over the passenger side and connect it to the exhaust that is on the passenger side. I guess what I am trying to ask is how do you guys think I should go about this. I want pretty cheap but also not cheap to where it will only last me one or two years. I would also like feedback on what you guys think of my idea and if you did the same thing how it sounds. Also throw other suggestions out there if there is a better way to do it. Thank you. Edit: It is a 1997 k1500 extended cab and short bed. 5.7l (Tech. 5.8l now bored over.) with shorty headers on.
