Hello GM lovers, I’m back again, with hat in hand, asking for help. Recently, I charged my a/c system back into the proper amount of coolant. Now living in the Desert, “cool” air is considered about 80 degrees on a 110 degree day. So all was fine while running the air. One day the blower motor decided it was done working. After schematic searching, I thought I would try the climate control module. That was not the issue. Then I optested the blower motor itself, and voila, it worked, so that lead me to belive it was the resistor. I changed the resistor, and had to rewire the harness, and blew the fuse. Changed the fuse, blower works. Air compressor kicks on, and I have cold freon going into the condensor. However, I am getting 100 degree air out of the vents. Can anyone help? If I have forgotten something that I may not know of (because I may not know of it) please educate me

2010 GMC Sierra A/C blows hot air on acceleration
philmitchell posted a question in Ask the GM Technician
2010 GMC Sierra 5.3L V8 FFV 6-speed Automatic 6.6 ft. Bed - 17k miles My truck above - when I accelerate, many times the a/c goes to blowing hot air. If I am cruising say at 65-70 and speed up any at all the a/c immeadiately begins to get warmer. One dealer I called told me that this is a built-in "feature" to give you more HP on acceleration - I doubt this as the compressor doesn't pull that much. In the "olden days" this was caused by a defective a/c module in the dash, which caused a sort of vacumn leak closing of the intake vents. What would cause it on this truck and how do I fix it? If it is some kind of design feature, how do I override it? Thanks, Phil- 13 replies

Hi everyone i am a new user who just bought a 2003 gmc sierra 1500 and i have been doing some repairs, but what has really stumped me are the climate controls. The drivers side only blows hot air and passenger side side seems to be only coolish air. As well the a/c doesn't come on at all even the orange lights on the buttons don't come on. So far i have checked the fuses and installed a new head unit but still no change, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vehicle: 2005 Silverado crew cab LT with dual zone HVAC Issue: It was cold this morning, so ran the heater for a while then, when it warmed up, turned both driver and passenger knobs from "90" to "60" degrees and switched air flow from floor to dash vents. But the air stayed hot and didn't change to the ambient temp like they should have. Made the stops I needed and, even after turning off and re-starting the truck a few times as I made my stops, hot air continued to come out of the dash vents. This actually happened to me several weeks back, but it was corrected the next time I drove the truck (which is generally about twice a week). Anyone else experienced this? If so, what's the cause and resolution?
