  1. 03 Silverado with 5.3, just replaced the tranny and got the following codes. P0120 Throttle pedal Switch A ; P0220 Throttle Pedal Switch B; P1516 Tac Module ; P2135 Throttle pedal position Sensor switch a/B correlation. I replaced the throttle body position sensor-complete with new butterfly valve, an new gas pedal sensor-complete with pedal. Do I need to have the computer relearn these parts somehow? IDK! And it is still bogging down but im not getting the codes again though. Is the replacement of the 8 pin connection to the throttle body sensor next? or am I missing something The truck moves off and shifts fine, but all of a sudden it goes into intermittent limp home mode type of running. Then it will run fine for a few minutes and then bog down again.
  2. Hi all, I have a 2006 GMC Canyon, 3.5L. I keep getting the codes P2176, P2101, and P1516. All of these have to do with the TPS. So I took a gamble and replaced the TPS, which means replacing the throttle body. However, I can't get this truck out of "reduced power" mode. The battery voltage seems good, 12.35V. The Power train relay works well. I want to test the voltages at the TPS connector but can't find them online. Any suggestions? HELP!!! I should add that I have tried to clear the codes using an OBDII and the codes just pop up again when I turn the ignition to ON. Also tried clearing the codes by disconnecting the battery and the codes pop up immediately, even before I crank the engine. So my guess is it is an electrical problem.
  3. Hello everyone, just spent a boat load trying to fix my Tahoe and still getting these codes and the dreaded "Reduced Engine Power" notification. I had the throttle body replaced and a new wire harness to the throttle positioning sensor. What is most baffling in my situation is I have narrowed the failure to 2 conditions, the first is at initial startup, it will intermittently go straight into reduced engine power before I ever put the truck into gear. The second condition is when I am driving at 60 mph or better and then set the cruise control, instantly the truck seems to run rough, and with in a minute or two it will give the reduced engine power notification. What could be causing this, My mechanic is going to be checking the ground on the back on of the engine, also thought we may need to address the pedal position sensor and/or the TAC. If someone has any insight on what to do next I would appreciate the input. Thanks. Jeff Nelson
  4. Hey guys I need some help. I've got an 07 NNBS Silverado 5.3 Last week I used my remote start for my truck and it fired up and quit. The remote start wouldnt work so i went and started the truck with the keys. When i did this it started up and idled horribly in with the DIC reading "Engine Power is Reduced" I plugged in my diablo tuner and read the codes. I had a P2176 and P2101. I cleared the codes and the truck started up and ran normally. I drove the truck all day and it had some advancements in the idle. The rpm's would race in neutral and park. Anyway i researched it. Cleaned the carbon out of the throttle body and the truck straightened out. A couple days later not two miles from my house while driving it went into power reduction mode. This time only the P2101 and P1516 codes showed up. I cleared them. fired up and was on my way. This happened one more time that morning. After more research i ended up bringing it to my local gmc dealer for an idle relearn. After this the truck idled much better and has run fine for the past couple of days. Now its been at least 200 miles since i had the idle relearn done but today i was on my way to work itwent into to Power reduction mode. This time the only code to come up was the P1516. Same thing i cleared it and i was good. I am not just confused. The other two codes were related to the TAC. The only code now is the p1516- "Intake Manifold Runner Control Input (Bank 1) See P2014." What do you guys think?!
