The 2022 GMC Yukon is getting some targeted upgrades for the new model year. Here are all of the details.
2022 GMC Yukon – New Color
The Yukon is getting a new color option for 2022, Redwood Metallic. The new color does come at the expense of two other colors, however. Dark Sky Metallic (GJI) and Smokey Quartz Metallic (GS6) will both be retired for the new year.
Expanded Engine & Transmission Options
New for 2022, the 6.2L engine will be available on AT4 for the first time and will sport a dual exhaust. A new 10-speed transmission (MHS) will also be paired to the 5.3L v7 & 6.2L V8 in all trim levels. The 3.0L Duramax Diesel will keep last year’s (MQC) 10-speed transmission. At this time, it’s unknown the difference between the two 10-speed options.
2022 GMC Yukon – New Infotainment Center With Google Built In
The 2022 Yukon also picks up a brand new infotainment system, now with Google Built-In. This is the same infotainment system software that will run in the GMC HUMMER EV and was introduced in the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Presumably, it will also be featured in the 2022 GMC Sierra when it is introduced next month. The new Google Built-In system will be standard across the entire Yukon lineup.
2022 Yukon also gets a new gauge cluster, now fully digital and sized at 12.3-inches.
2022 GMC Yukon Denali – New Console & Performance Package
The 2022 Yukon Denali also gets into the action with the power sliding center console becoming standard on the trim level. A brand new “Denali Performance Package” (RFG) heads into the mix with (SEV) 22″ 6-Spoke Low Gloss Black Wheels with Machined Accents, (SFZ) Black GMC emblems, (RIK) Black nameplate, and (5JL) Front 6-Piston Brembo Brake Upgrade with Color-Matched Rear Calipers.
New Pro-Grade Trailering System, Wheels, and Safety Equipment
The 2022 Yukon will feature a whole host of new wheel options. (SEM) 20″ Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels, (SRV) 22″ Multi-spoke Gloss Black wheels, (SRL) 22″ Black wheels with selective machining, (SSI) 22″ Multi-spoke Chrome wheels and SSW) 22″ Multi-split spoke Chrome wheels round out the options.
Along with the new infotainment center, a new “Pro-Grade Trailering System” (ZL6) replaces the previous In-Vehicle trailing app and features a (UET) Smart Trailer Integration Indicator.
GMC’s Pro Safety Package expands with Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning becoming standard on all trim levels, including SLE.
