Nine colors. Seven trims. And no 2027 Silverado gets all of them. Chevrolet just turned on the interactive configurator for the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, giving us our first look at the complete color palette. We clicked through every trim and every swatch to build the one table that answers the question every buyer asks: can I get the color I want on the trim I want?
The paint codes below come from GM’s published 2027 order guides for other models that share these exact paints, plus established codes for the carryover colors. When the official order guide lands, we will confirm everything and fill in the prices.
What Colors Does the 2027 Silverado 1500 Come In?
Five colors are free. Four cost extra. And every trim, from the WT to the High Country, offers exactly six of the nine. More on that math in a minute, because the way Chevrolet split the deck is the real story here.
Which 2027 Silverado Colors Are New?
Three paints are new to the Silverado for 2027: Apex Red, Trillium Green Metallic, and Pacific Blue Metallic. Three from 2026 are gone: Red Hot, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Cypress Gray.
Look at what happened with red. The 2026 truck offered two of them, a free red and a premium tintcoat. For 2027 there is one, Apex Red, and it is free on every trim. When was the last time a color change actually saved buyers money?
Cypress Gray, the gray that always looked a little green in the right light, makes way for a color that commits. Trillium Green Metallic is a deep, earthy green that GM is spreading across its 2027 lineup, and on a ZR2 with 35s it looks the business.
The rest of the palette carries over: Black, Summit White, Sterling Gray Metallic, Riptide Blue Metallic, plus White Sands and Polar White Tricoat, which both arrived just last year. Pacific Blue Metallic is technically new here but not new to the family. The same G4M paint just showed up in the 2027 Silverado EV order guide.
2027 Silverado Color Options by Trim: Watch the Gates
Only Black, Sterling Gray Metallic, and Apex Red are available on all seven trims. Everything else has a gate.
Riptide Blue Metallic is for the street trucks only: WT, Custom, and the Silverado trim. Want a Trail Boss in blue? You can’t have one. Not this blue, not any blue.
Trillium Green Metallic runs the other direction. It is exclusive to the Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, ZR2, and High Country. WT and Custom buyers are locked out of the green entirely.
Then there is the High Country, which follows its own rulebook. It is the only trim that drops Summit White and White Sands, and in return it gets the only two trim-exclusive colors in the lineup: Polar White Tricoat and Pacific Blue Metallic.
Sit with that for a second. A white High Country only comes one way, Polar White Tricoat, and it costs extra. The truck with the highest sticker price in the lineup is the only one you cannot order in a free white. Half of the High Country palette carries an upcharge. On a WT, five of the six colors are free.
How Much Is Premium Paint on a 2027 Silverado?
Chevrolet has not published official numbers. The configurator flags Riptide Blue Metallic, Trillium Green Metallic, Polar White Tricoat, and Pacific Blue Metallic as extra cost colors and stops there. Dealer information puts Trillium Green at $395, which is consistent with what GM charges for the same paint elsewhere in the lineup. Expect the full price sheet when the order guide drops, and expect the tricoat to be the expensive one. Premium whites usually are.
Which Color Should You Order?
We have hosted 26 years of forum arguments about truck paint, and the lessons barely change from generation to generation:
- White Sands and Sterling Gray hide dirt better than anything else on this list. If your truck works for a living, or lives on a gravel road, these two will look clean weeks after a black truck looks terrible.
- Black is stunning for about four days between washes. It shows swirls, dust, and every mistake your local touchless wash makes. Black truck owners either love detailing or learn to.
- Summit White is the resale anchor. Fleet demand keeps white GM trucks moving on used lots, and it is the easiest paint to match when a shopping cart finds your bedside.
- The bold colors pay off later. Fewer buyers want a green or blue truck, but the ones who do will pay for it. A Trillium Green ZR2 will turn heads on a lot in 2031 long after the grays blend together.
Worth noting as you weigh it: when we gathered real owner reactions to the 2027 Silverado, the styling was the one thing nearly everyone agreed Chevrolet got right. Bodywork this expressive deserves a color with some depth to it.
