An all-new from the ground up 2023 GMC Canyon is on the way and we think we caught one testing on GM’s Milford, MI Proving Grounds sporting a new set of wheels.

Just this morning GMC unveiled the GMC Canyon AT4 OVRLANDX Concept truck, which gives a hint that the brand will take a more off-road focus on the next-gen Canyon. This prototype goes along with that assumption with larger off-road tires and a beefier stance.
We’ve caught prototypes of GM’s new midsize trucks before, but this is the first time we’ve seen these new wheels.
Our spy photographer reports:
We caught a new prototype for the 2023 GMC Canyon, testing on GM’s famed North/South Straightaway. Our latest look at GM’s new midsize truck sports a new six-spoke “honeycomb” wheel design.
Two Canyon prototypes were running on the same wheel design, and both were running on variants of the Goodyear Wrangler tire. One of the prototypes can clearly be seen to be equipped with 265/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT rubber.

We can’t say exactly which trim level this latest GMC Canyon represents, but the chunky black-and-brushed-metal wheel design applied to this Crew Cab prototype is quite unlike anything in the current Canyon lineup. The exhaust treatment is the same as all prior prototypes, which is expected, as the sole engine expected to grace GM’s midsize trucks is the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, good for 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque.
