General Motors is refining its electric vehicle lineup for the upcoming model year. While the 2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV is not getting a huge overhaul, the brand is rolling out some very welcome updates that enthusiasts have been asking for. The most significant shift is the move to a native NACS charging port, but there are plenty of styling and packaging tweaks to cover. Let us dive into exactly what is new, what is changing, and what is leaving the order guide for 2027.

The Big News: NACS is Native

The most significant functional upgrade for the 2027 Blazer EV is the shift to a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) inlet. Because of this major transition, an adapter may now be required to use older charging stations. Chevy has dropped the old NACS adapters from the order sheet and introduced a brand new suite of LPO adapter packages designed specifically to keep you powered up anywhere.

Depending on your charging needs, you can now equip the Blazer EV with one of three dealer-provided charging packages:

  • Level 2 and Fast Charging Adapter Package (PEB): This includes the GM J1772 AC Adapter and the GM CCS1 DC Adapter.
  • Charging Essentials Package (PEC): This builds on the base package, offering the necessary adapters for a wider range of charging scenarios.
  • Premium Charging Package (PED): This is the ultimate setup and includes the GM PowerShift AC Charging Adapter for advanced home integration.

Additionally, Chevy has made Charge Station Communication Equipment standard across the board, ensuring the Blazer EV seamlessly talks to the latest charging networks.

Package and Equipment Upgrades

Chevy tweaked a few of the most popular option groups to pack in more value for the 2027 model year. If you order the Super Cruise Package, you now automatically get the Bose premium 8-speaker audio system included. Getting hands-free driving tech paired with premium audio right out of the gate is a fantastic combo.

Likewise, the Comfort and Convenience Package has been updated. It now swaps out the old satin aluminum roof rails for a sleek set of High Gloss Black roof rails, giving the Blazer EV a much more aggressive and modern profile.

Exterior Styling and Wheel Updates

The Blazer EV SS is getting a stealthier stance right from the factory. Chevy ditched the machined-face wheels with carbon flash pockets and equipped the 2027 SS with standard 22-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels. This pairs nicely with the roof-mounted shark fin antenna, which has transitioned from body color to a universal Gloss Black across the entire lineup.

On the LT trims, the standard 19-inch wheels now feature a bright Silver-painted finish, moving away from the previous machined-face look. The LT mirror caps have also changed, shifting from body-color to a mold in color Black housing.

Finally, if you are looking at the Illumination Package, note that the Black nameplates have been removed from that specific group for the new model year.

Colors and Interior Trim

Inside the high-performance SS model, the perforated seat inserts feature a new unidirectional pattern. This replaces the previous design and entirely removes the center alignment stripe for a cleaner look.

For the exterior paint palette, we have to say goodbye to Galaxy Gray Metallic and the Summit White two-tone roof option. In their place, Chevy introduces a brand new color called White Sands, giving buyers a fresh, bright option for their new EV.

Accessory Deletions to Note

As is typical with a new model year, GM has cleaned up the LPO accessory list. For 2027, they discontinued several items, including the All-Weather Mat Package, standalone All-Weather floor mats, All-weather cargo mats, the Black Illumination Package, and the Cargo carrier mount.
