  2. 2003 GMC Yukon 4.8L Don’t have those scanners that gives you extra data, just got a simple one that gives you the codes only. Well I’ve researched that it’s mainly a vacuum leak issue. I’ve checked all vacuum hoses and even used a smoker and can’t seem to find where the problem is. Is there a common area where this leak occurs? Man it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.   3. Noob at this non engine related thing. How do I go about and cleaning the contacts. I know I have to remove the horn panel from the steering, but where do I start?   4. 2003 GMC Yukon 4.8 I recently noticed that the horn on the truck works intermittently. Now it doesn’t work at all. Funny thing is that when I arm the security alarm, the horn sounds. So I’m thinking the horn works, but not when I press on it on the steering wheel. What could be wrong? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Clean the MAF. My 03 was doing the same. When slowing to a stop rpm dips below 400 then slowly goes up to 700.
  6. Check the yoke and grease her up. My 03 has similar issues. I feel a thump going over bumps and stopping. Hope this helps

  9. where is the PNP (park neutral position) switch located on the tranny? or in some cases called NSBU (neutral start back up) switch. Where is it located?

  11. 2003 gmc Yukon 4.8L 2WD Started ride placed gear selector to R (reverse) and my door locks intermittently locked and unlocked. I placed it in D (drive) and same thing...door locks locking and unlocking. I also noticed that the line underneath the D or R was missing. Baffled i pulled over and killed the engine. I then started her up again and there it is the line appear on all gears?????? Drove her home without any issues. What could be wrong? I saw a thread archived here called " Problem With Gear Selector" by 98silv71 and its similar to my issue. Need help. Please advise. thank you.
  12. Removed the maf and intake tube. Cleaned maf with cleaner. Might as well clean the throttle body while the tube was off. Noticed a little gunk around the butterfly. Sprayed the area until gunk was gone. After drying them off for about 30 min, started her off and idle was back to normal at 700. Shifting from park to reverse and to drive was back to normal. Didn't drop below 500 anymore. Drove like a champ. I prayed it wasn't my TCC solenoid. I didn't want to drop the tranny bottom pan, because i would've had to change the filter, gasket, and fluid. Just me..trying to save money.
  13. Its fly by wire. I'll buy MAF and carb cleaners. Hopefully after cleaning them up will work. I already have my plugs and wires to install as well. Crossing my fingers.
  14. 03 GMC Yukon 4.8L 2wd SLE Pulled in garage after dropping my daughter off at her volleyball practice. Took a 2 hour nap while waiting. After my beauty rest jumped in my ride and started her up. Started like a champ. Started pulling out on reverse and all of a sudden engine just died. Started her back up with no problem. What i noticed was the change in idle. On reverse needle on guage went below 500 rpm...maybe at 400 or so. It slowly went back to 700 moments later. I then placed her in drive and same thing drop below 400 or so then gradually rises up. What the heck is going on? Dirty MAF
  15. probably bad clock spring. I have yet to change my clock spring. Horn works sporadically.
