  1. Most of the "horror" stories you've heard are about the newer 8 speed (which were mostly fixed with a new fluid). The 6 speed only needed a TSB to reprogram the shift points (I think). I own a newer one, so I've got the 8 speed and don't remember the exact TSB details but everyone here who had it seemed to be very pleased afterwards. No problems with the 6 speed to speak of.   2. You just need some polishing compound. If it's just plastic that rubbed off, it should come off pretty easily. Definitely not sandpaper unless it's wet/dry 3000 grit or more, and then you'd still probably want to polish it out. I'd just get some clearcoat polishing compound. 2017 GMC Canyon Denali V6 CCSB 4X4
  3. SIX TCs???? Wow. For the hard shift I've read the valve body may need to be changed out. If they've changed the TC that many times that's obviously not the fix for your issue. Since this is your first post, what else can you tell us about what's going on? What type of hard shift? Any specific circumstance? Downshift to 1st, or when it's cold from 1st to 2nd etc?   4. I LOVE my '17 Canyon crew cab short box. It's only got 11k miles, but the V6 with the 8 speed transmission has performed flawlessly for me. Seems like a great match and I've had zero complaints. The longer I own it, the more I enjoy it. I also came from 1/2 ton trucks so I was concerned these wouldn't feel enough like a serious truck, but they really do feel like they are just slightly smaller and more sporty handling.
