I have a 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. My mechanic told me about 6 months ago that my steering rack would have to be replaced. Yesterday I noticed losing my power steering and I think I have to get it done now. Is anyone aware of a recall because this will cost me 2,400.00 out if pocket.

How was the ride after adding the blocks? I heard adding s leaf to the springs was the better ride but much more costly

My mechanic says I need a new steering rack to stop the noises when making turns at low speeds. I only have 73k on my Sierra yet it does seem what I need. He quoted 2400.00 including the alignment. He's very good and reliable but my research says these repairs go between 1500.00 to 1900.00.
