  1. Hi, my name is Juan. I was wondering if I could get some help in figuring out what is wrong with my transmission. I have a 2005 yukon with 256000 miles. The previous owner did not take care of the vehicle and it has come with a lot of problems. Recently I was driving and the check engine light came on, after testing it shift solenoid A was stuck on. This is not a troublesome repair to do so I went to get the the parts and was on the way home to repair myself. On the way home I heard a loud clunk that shook the entire vehicle. It then shifted to neutral and would only go into gear for a short time. If I stopped and tried to go again it would be back in neutral. I manage to get it back home and start the solenoid change. I noticed that the fluid which is only a couple of months old is slightly dark. Once I completed the change of both the A&B solenoids. I filled it to the recommended level. Upon testing the vehicle out it was almost impossible to move the gear shift lever once I did get it to move the transmission and even the lever itself skip right past reverse and neutral (shift cable is fine and moves with lever). It can go into D123 but feels like something is holding it back. I did also notice that the transfer case is bone dry if that has anything to do with it.
