  1. As the title states. This just started today/this morning. Truck is in park not running, not driving. I open the door and go to climb in the seat and CLUNK. Sounds like its coming from the rear. I checked the rear leafs. Cant find any cracks or broken leafs or shackles. Any guesses on what this might be? Does not matter which side of the truck you climb into it happens on the passenger side as well and also happens when you exit the truck. The leafs and shackles are the originals and are rusted and crusty looking. And this is the coldest day we have had since I have owned the truck at 15F. Any clues or anyone whos also suffered this issue would be great. Truck is a 2003 1500 4x4 with a torsion level. Only had the torsion level on for about 2 weeks.
  2. Hello! I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 z71. Today I had Rough Country levelling torsion keys installed on my truck by a local shop. Along with this they completed a front end alignment. Upon picking up the truck, the owner of the shop informed me the alignment guy had a difficult time as he completely maxed out the caster adjustment and could not get it perfect. The truck was parked out in the shops lot which is a large uneven gravel parking lot. Upon inspection of the truck in the lot it appeared as though it was level and looked good. I took the truck home and although my steering wheel rides cocked to the left slightly it appears to drive straight and not pull to either side. At this point I take the truck to work which has a large level concrete parking lot. When leaving my truck I turned around to inspect the beauty and noticed the front appeared to sit higher than the rear of the truck. I immediately grabbed a measuring tape and began taking measurements from the ground to the center of each fender. These are the measurements I found. Driver Front- 38 1/4" Passenger Front- 38 1/2" Driver Rear- 37 3/4" Passenger Rear- 38" At this point I realized the measurements were off by 1/2" from front to back, and 1/4" from left to right. Would the drivers side front being 1/4" lower than the passenger cause the rear to also sag by 1/4"? I am trying to find the best way to attack this as this is my first time ever having a levelling kit of any sort. Would having the shop lower the driver front by 1/4" and the passenger front by 1/2" level things out? Or am I expecting too much precision and 1/4" and 1/2" is within a margin of error for things like this? Suggestions would be amazing. Thanks in advance.
  3. UPDATE: Fuel pump is in and truck has about 300 miles on it since the tow. Everything seems in place and up to snuff. Guess I was just being a worry wart about my baby.
  4. And what exactly makes you say this? Any experience with a similar situation?
  5. Yeah.. that's the crappy thing is my fuel pump won't be here till Wednesday so I get to sit with the anxiety of my tranny being gone until then.
  6. My fuel pump went out on my truck (03 1500 4x4) Saturday (8/14/21). I tried all local tow companies and nobody could come pickup my truck. As a last resort so I didn't have to park my truck in the ditch for two days I called my grandfather and he offered to tow it back with a tow chain. He insisted this would not damage the truck. After he towed it back with his friend operating my truck I noticed the transmission was in neutral but the transfer case was still in 2HI and he had not put the transfer case in neutral. We travelled about 12 miles at 30mph and I asked my grandfather of it would still be okay and he insisted leaving the TC in 2HI wouldn't damage it on such a short trip at those speeds. Waiting on fuel pump still. But am I going to get my truck running to find a detonated tranny or TC. Or worse both. Anyone experience something similar first hand and their truck survive?
