I think its wt model. It is true duals. I have a couple of things I have already purchased and a couple of things I would like some feedback on. I have been going back and forth with my friends about the long-term plans for the truck because it would affect it in the short term as well. I wanted to stuff an lsa motor into it in the future but I keep driving the truck and I love how simple the truck is, its old enough that it has a mechanical feel to the truck, its not softened up like some newer trucks I have had and as I keep driving it, I keep thinking an lsa motor and tr6060 trans is too much for a truck I plan on driving as a daily driver. I have a couple of friends who are just telling me to get a lq9 6.0 motor, put some port and polished 243 heads on it and a cam with a tune and I should have a very reliable 400 horsepower truck. When I think about it like that, it seems like a good idea. The truck right now is not fast by any means but even with just a stock 4.8, it already spins the tires very easily as there is no weight in the back and is a fun truck to drive and when I consider adding 150 horsepower with a mild lq9 motor, the lsa motor starts to sound excessive because I do plan on driving this truck a lot. So guys let me know if you think I should just go with the lq9 route. The reason I ask this is because if I go with an lq9 route, it would not be nearly as expensive and it would be something I would start gathering parts for as soon as my shop is complete, and going this route would also mean I would keep the stock trans so I would not have to spend money there either. I have a look I want for the truck. I will post a picture of that as well.
The first two things I plan to do with this truck are a drop and taking care of the interior. As far as the interior goes, I have already purchased a remote shifter kit from remoteshifters.com. It's not cheap but I seem to find positive things about how they feel when you drive and the owner seems like a very nice guy to deal with in the conversations I have had with him. I am looking locally for a full center console and looking for OEM seats that have some more bolstering to them. I am looking for power gto seats that are in good condition that I can retrofit to fit in the truck. The seats and a full center console would solve the two issues I have with the interior. Those two things are the fact that I move around too much on the factory bench seat and that since there is no normal center console, almost all of the things that I put on the bench seats either end up behind the seats as the gap between the upper and lower seat is so large or they fall on the floor in front of the seat any time I brake even a little harder than normal as the seats are also very flat. I will attach a picture of the remote shifter kit with the full center console. I will also get a simple double din with just some newer features like apple car play and find speakers that are drop-in upgrades. I am not too crazy about bass so I will probably not add subs or anything crazy like that. I might add some soundproofing to the floor while I have the chance as I have to pull seats shifter kit anyway and removing the vinyl floor with the seats out is easy.
The drop I plan to do with the truck, for now, will be mild. I am looking at different kits from different companies right now and discussing them with people who have dropped these trucks before. I don't want to go too low like a 4/6 or 5/7 drop as this will serve as the backup tow rig if for any reason my other truck is either down or unavailable. I was looking at 2/4 drop kit with the street performance shocks from beltech. What do you guys think of this 2/4 kit? I don't want the truck to ride rough but a little stiffer than how it is with the stock suspension with just a leveling kit in the front would be nice. I am also asking around to see if I need to c notch the frame with a c notch kit for a 2/4 drop. I would prefer not to notch the frame for now. Alongside the drop, I will also probably change the wheels. It is not a priority for me as I am looking for a clean set of weld wheels that's in the picture I attached so I don't mind keeping my stock wheels for now until I find those wheels in good condition at a used price. I rarely purchase wheels new especially for a daily driver because the second you install them, it's a used wheel now, so might as well find a good condition used set and save hundreds of dollars in most situations as I also don't like running cheap wheel because cheap wheels give you cheap wheel issues lol. I do plan on doing a brake upgrade but I won't do it now, I will wait until I do the motor upgrade. I have a set of c6 z06 brakes laying around but just the brackets to use them are almost $500 so it's not a cheap upgrade by any means. By the time you buy rotors and brackets, it's close to $1000 and that's considering I have the calipers already.
