  1. I was confused as to how a module that controls the radio and navigation prevents the truck from starting but, the video explains how there's a "network", a sort of LAN that ties into the ignition circuitry. I wish I knew about this video before authorizing the dealer to complete the work but, quite honestly, when it comes to these computerized vehicles, I don't have any way to check for dead modules.
  2. This explains it better than I can https://youtu.be/227dndw46JY
  3. OK, just spoke with the dealer and after 29 days, they have diagnosed my truck with a shorted HMI module. I gave them the ok to repair at $1500. Ugh. Once I got home, I had the opportunity to look up the module and found them for around $300. Zeesh......that's why they're called the "stealership". Oh, after the dealer told me the price, he still tried to upsell me on a cabin filter and wipers! Hopefully she will be fixed soon!
  4. Thanks for that info! I need to scour that area again but It was tough due to the harness being sandwiched between the frame rail and bed. Gonna take the wheel off this time to look. Which side were you having trouble on? Driver rear or passenger? I finally end up taking the truck to the dealership and it's been there since 11/1 and they're just telling me "we're working on it". Sounds like I need to prepare for some expensive news. Thank you!
  5. UPDATE: I removed the starter relay and jumped it out, engine turned over. Also swapped out the relay with another. Still won't start though via the ignition. I guess that rules out the battery and starter?
  6. Thanks Richard! You've given me an additional area to check!
  7. Update: When I turn the key, it sounds like the fuel system is priming and there is a click coming from near the driver floorboard under the dash. Does the bcm click when starting?
  8. Not sure about the codes. My foxwell scanner won't connect. Acting pretty strange.
  9. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into the procedure for this. Use to be it was as simple as laying a screw driver across the battery and solenoid. (Older cars)
  10. New-ish batt. About 24mo old. Even still, I guess it could still be a starter issue. I find it awfully coincidental that this issue manifested AFTER I removed my door panels.
  11. Anyone else? Truck is still dead. Battery voltage is 12.8vdc
  12. Unfortunately, I don't think a new battery would help here.
  13. Pleas help everyone!! I went to leave town and my truck wouldn't start, no clicking, nothing. The only sign of life was the information center throwing every error and service message at me. -----Service stabiltrack --Service 4wd --Service trailer brake system --Action required: steering assist is reduced drive with care. --low fuel, --lower and raise the driver side window. The ONLY I did to the truck prior to the issue was removing the door panels to dynamat the doors. I can only assume that I created an issue by not disconnecting the batt first before unplugging the door panel harness. I tried to jump start, disconnect/reconnect body ground, completely disconnect the battery for about an hour, even took off the door panels again to look for anything obvious. Battery reads 12.8vdc Kinda seems like a security issue but I have no idea. Thoughts? 2015 Sierra
