Valvoline Synthetic. 5qt jug + 3 1qt bottles = 8qts.

Im just a guy at home doing normal services. Not saying I’m a professional mechanic. It definitely comes down to a slow drip and the cap and filter is off. Does the pan hold a little bit of oil? Every other vehicle I’ve had the book was always right on with what was needed to added.

Hi all. I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 LD (old body style) with a 5.3L with a little over 63,000 miles on it. My manual says 8 qts of 0W-20 however when I fill it with the 8qts it’s way over the line. The first time I changed the oil I read every article and forum post to make sure I wasn’t wrong and 8qts seems to be right. I started to notice a pretty bad oil leak from the back of the upper pan and from what I’m reading that could be a rear main seal. So my questions are has anyone else experienced this level of leaking for what I think is so early? Is 8qts too much? Could I have the wrong dipstick (V6?)? Thanks all.
