Recently bought a brand new Silverado and when I went to the gas station this morning I noticed that the radio didn’t turn off after I opened the door. Didn’t think anything of it, went in the store. When I got back in my truck and started it I saw that the “service ESC” light was on instead of my speedometer display as well as the orange ABS light. No other lights and no codes in my app or on my display. Drove it home, turned it off and went inside. Came out not even 5 minutes later, started truck and it was back to normal. Repeated this several times and it’s totally normal with no lights on the dash.
I was concerned with this incident being connected to my stability control/braking system so I called GM customer care for advice and potentially to see if my truck was unsafe to drive. The person on the line was so condescending and just plain rude that I hung up on her and came here instead(I’m not a sensitive person either btw). It’s Memorial Day weekend so I can’t get my truck in til Tuesday unfortunately, but I am wondering if anybody else has any idea what happened or if this is potentially a dangerous malfunction and that I should not drive the truck.
Also I can not get the update to install successfully. I’ve tried it 6-7 times and it always fails. I hope I didn’t trade my relatively problem free Ranger for a giant bag of recalls/codes/malfunctions.
Thank you for any help or insight you can give!
