I've recently purchased replacement foam for a 1989 Silverado bench seat. Turns out that the foam is WAY too thick. It doesn't match the original foam. Nonetheless the upholstery repair shop installed it anyway and it's now impossible to sit on the bench and drive . It also doesn't allow the seat belt buckle to fit through it's so thick. It should be noted that the upholstery shop had to tear out the original foam. Apparently it was glued or otherwise attached to the frame. Has anyone had a similar problem? I suppose the new foam can be cut to fit but they have no idea what the specs are for such cutting.
