I have a 2004 Sierra with 5.3 engine. Every interchange that I see for the recommended part #214-2149 says it is for 07' up new body styles only. Can anyone confirm this will work on the older body style 2004's? Mine does not have a clip at the canister like some do. The hose is heat on from factory. Instead of putting heater hose from the canister to the old hose, I would think it would be better to use heater hose from the new canister all the way to the filter box. In my mind it would have less chances of any evap leaks this way. - thoughts on doing it this way?
