Awesome, thank you! The truck belongs to my neighbor. Before I head over there, I’d like to have all my ducks in a row. Where is the ECM in this truck? I’m reading it may be inside the cab under the pass side dash? Also do I need anything special to reset the MIL or will a standard/basic OBD2 tool do it?

Just replaced the complete ignition distributor in a '96 Kodiak with the 366ci V8 because the hall module in the base was bad and had no spark or fuel. Now the truck starts but I need to set the ignition timing. I've read I need to disconnect a single wire that is tan w/ black stripe to put the ignition control in base timing. I cannot find this wire! As things stand, the truck only runs at an indicated 30* of initial timing. If I set it to 8* BTDC, the truck won't stay running. Thanks.
