Hello, I’m new to the forum and didn’t seem to find anything along the lines of what my issue seems to be on my 2012 Chevy Silverado 5.3…
My oil pressure sensor went bad and I drove it for like a month before replacing it (broke my ankle so I couldn’t exactly get to it) and during that time, it drove fairly decent. After replacing the sensor, it drove amazing until I noticed a big oil puddle under my truck (sensor came loose somehow) so I tightened it and my oil pressure for the first 10 minutes of driving, sits at or above 40psi but the longer I drive, the lower it drops and sits around 20psi but ever since replacing the sensor I’ve had nothing but misc problems that come and go, for example; I’ve been getting a code for a Cylinder 5 Fuel Injector Open circuit and a code for a bad ignition coil on cylinder one. Both problems were addressed and the engine still runs rough, especially when sitting at lights for extended periods of time and then it’ll stop and then randomly come and go. I’ve had my Traction Control and Stabilitrak turn on and off leading to the truck running poorly, poor shifting, poor acceleration and a “stop and go” type feeling when accelerating. I have tried charging my battery, disconnecting my battery for 30 minutes and then connecting again to reset the computer but the same issues persists. Ive had flashing check engine light, consistent check engine light that comes and goes randomly as well. My radiator fan is running on high all the time and it feels like my heat is on even when it’s not. I have been led down the road to believe that either my ecm/pcm is bad or alternator is bad but not sure if I’m on the right track and don’t want to throw money in unnecessary places.
I’ve been struggling to figure out the true culprit of my issue and was wondering if there’s anyone who could help me start figuring this out. Thanks for any and all help in advance,
Austin
