Hi I have a 2003 Silverado 1500 and lately when I’ve been driving on the highway at a consistent speed sometimes I will hear a humming noise that sounds like it’s coming from under the middle or rear of the truck. The noise isn’t constant in just will happen randomly when I’m driving down the highway and last for about 6 seconds and then goes away and then will happen randomly again. I’m wondering in anyone knows what this could be Thankyou.

How’s it goin fellas, Gotta 2009 Silverado 2500HD 6.0l 6L90. I have BF Goodrich All Terrain TA/KO2, the newest style with the aggressive sidewalks (the older original style looked much better). I have a terrible humming noise, 90% sure it’s coming from front end. I called my tire guy, and told him these tires are killing me with this hum. It’s at any and all speeds over 15mph. He told me check wheel hubs, which I did. I know they are known to go. Truck has 73,000mi in it. From left was replaced around 40,000. I tried every test you can put wheel bearings and hubs through. They are tight! Driving I possibly here less humming when turning left. So that would indicate left hub possibly going bad. I replace it, use skf hub assembly. Still humms, tried all different tire pressures, still humms, replaced right side hub assembly, still humms, replaced all shocks and steering stabilizer with Rancho 5000’s. Still humms, no brake dust shrouds rubbing. I’m outta ideas other than the tires again. Tires have 5,000 miles on them, and I rotate every 3,000. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Hello all, i have been lurking these forums forums for some time now but I now have an issue on my hands. My 2014 Silverado 1500 lt ccsb has been intermittently displaying the theft deterrent on the DIC but the theft deterrent light hasn’t stayed illuminated until a brief moment today. I had the battery terminals disconnected for about 20 minutes, it started fine, but when I put into any gear other than park it made the noise in the attached video. I replaced the battery about 3-4000 miles ago. Thanks. 90B0E818-502A-433F-9C65-86B59BAA2383.MOV

Okay so I got a 95 s10 with the 4L60e trans, so I'll be driving down the road and I guess in about 3rd to forth gear at around 40-50 mph the rpm will drop to between 2-3 thousand rpm (shifting into 4th i believe) and a rather loud humming noise occurs. Is this normal? Or should I be worried? Please help I work 6days a week and have to drive this truck everyday. Just need to know if this is normal, thanks

Humming/Vibration/Pinging noise when Avalanche in motion
booster posted a question in Ask the GM Technician
2004 Avalanche Z66. 108000 miles. I had to recently drive thru a lot of high water on a rescue mission to retrieve my daughter. Water depths approaching 4ft. This act has already forced me to replace both knock sensors. Since then, when driving at speeds above 60+mph I can hear a low frequency hum accompanied by a vibration I can feel in the steering wheel. The humming gets louder and the vibration stronger when I let up off the gas. I'm assuming it is the front wheel bearings. This 2nd issue I've notice occurred just after I drained and refilled the rear diff. I refilled with 80w-90 synthetic blend gear oil and the following day, after about 50 miles of driving, a pinging noise is coming from the rear of the vehicle during low speed acceleration. It almost sounds like ball bearings are bouncing around in the rear diff. I have no idea what is causing this. Any ideas?
