GMC is giving us a hint about what’s next for the Canyon AT4X. Like its bigger brother, the Sierra AT4X, the Canyon AT4X will get a special AEV Edition, designed with even further off-road.

We previewed a covered Canyon AT4X AEV Edition a few weeks ago (see photo below). On display were massive off-road tires, AEV Salta wheels, and a slick AEV logo on the bumper.  DSSV shocks were also part of the package,  but GMC didn’t offer many details.

Fast forward to today, and while we’re still not getting any significant specifics, we now can see from the teaser photo that a unique bumper with winch provisions (and maybe even a standard winch) will be part of the package.

If the Canyon AT4X AEV Edition is anything like the Colorado ZR2 Bison, expect 35-inch tires that add 2-inches of additional ground clearance along with a special long-travel suspension. AEV usually likes to add in additional protection, so expect special skid plates on the menu as well.

GMC has announced they will show the world the full details of the Canyon AT4X AEV Edition on July 6th. Stay tuned.
