The next level in off-road ability is coming to the Canyon AT4X, courtesy of a collaboration between GMC and American Expedition Vehicles.

In 2024, GMC Canyon enthusiasts will be able to choose the ultimate AT4X upgrade. The AEV Edition. Complete with trail-busting features, a 4.5-inch lift, and huge 35-inch tires, this GMC Canyon is meant to go deeper off-road and satisfy the most discerning off-road and Overlanding customer.

Designed to be the sibling to the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison, the AT4X AEV edition is surprisingly outfitted with a slightly different feature set. That’s because while the ZR2 is meant for trail running, the AT4X AEV Edition is tilted towards overlanding and hardcore off-roading.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition? Here’s the feature list in short:
Canyon AT4X AEV Edition Features
- 4.5-inch (114mm) factory lift – which is 1.5-inches more than the standard AT4X
- 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
- 38.2-degree front approach angle / 26.9-degree breakover angle / 26-degree departure angle

“The GMC Canyon AT4X is an incredibly formidable platform when it comes to on- and off-road performance and capability,” said AEV CEO and founder Dave Harriton. “We took our signature approach to help elevate the Canyon AT4X’s inherent off-road capability to the next level. This truck checks a lot of boxes for any discerning overland enthusiast looking for luxury, technology and capability in a midsize platform.”

The 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition will go on sale later this year. It will be manufactured at GM’s Wentzville Assembly in Wentzville, Missouri.
