GM-Trucks.com has exclusively learned that General Motors is making some small changes to the Rear Seat Infotainment (RSI) systems found on its Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac Vehicles.

For 2022 the RSI systems will drop USB and Miracast compatibility. For 2021 the systems could read files off a USB stick or cast video from other devices via the Miracast standard, but not for 2022.

Thankfully HDMI connections will persist into the new model year along with a new feature, streaming video support. How the RSI will stream video and if it will require a vehicle data connection is still unknown.
